Every trip to Nurnberg should include an evening at Bohm's Herrenkeller. They have taken the art of preparing schweinhaxe to a new level. It is always cooked to perfection with a nice layer of crispy fat included. Typical sides for this dish would be a potato dumpling and a small house salad. The Fire Pot is a very good starter... Ate here as it was reported to be the oldest restaurant in Nuremberg. The food was typically Bavarian and good. It was a great place to try something traditional and was like stepping back in time. Very friendly English speaking staff.

We stumbled upon this restaurant down a side street close to our hotel late on a Saturday after just arriving in Nuremberg. The restaurant is really old and traditional with separate dining areas and frequented by locals which is always a good sign. The food and drink were very good, the beer served in a traditional ceramic tankard, and it... More

We booked restaurant in advance, table ready when we arrived and they'd turned a couple away in front of us. We had a wonderful meal which was very reasonably priced.

Known to locals for the pork shoulder & crackle Yum! It's called a Schaufele. A must try in this old world restaurant must book though as many were turned away during our meal

This was fully booked when we visited in the evening but managed to get in easily for lunch. Nice and authentic place with authentic food. I tried the lunchtime menu which was more than sufficient and excellent value. Pork in a mushroom sauce very nice. Pleasant staff

We visited Boehms Herrenkeller by pure chance but felt we struck gold. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable and the atmosphere friendly. The food is authentically German with several Franconian dishes on the menu. Service was efficient and friendly, the beer good and the food delicious. The place is busy, mainly with locals, and we were lucky to get a... More

Recommended by our hotel staff. The specials were excellent, pork and a seasonal fish meal. If you're near the train station, find this restaurant for a most special meal with excellent service.

Recommended by our nearby hotel when we arrived at 9pm - hearty, filling traditional food. We had goulash soup in a bread bowl then pork shoulder with dumpling or beef in sour sauce with dumpling- both very nice. Keller beer or Pils both very refreshing also good range of wines by the glass. A real gem!

Local favorite and really bustles especially during the Christmas Market which was our time to visit. We ate lunch there twice and were not disappointed. Suggest you make a reservation, however we were able to get lunch without one. The Weiner Schnitzel was very good and the pork shoulder was very tasty. I also tried the Wild Boar was tasty,... More
