Picturesque restaurant serving local cuisine, with prices somewhat lower than the city average. Between 4 people we shared sausages with onions, the spätzle pasta with cheese, pork medallions in mustard sauce and the schäufele, all very delicious. With several rounds of drinks we came out to 25 euros per person, more than reasonable.
The waiter who served us was generally friendly, although sometimes we got the impression that he was laughing at us speaking in German with some guys at the same table. If not, it seemed like it, so you should be careful with those details.

We took a quick detour to locate the restaurant before our evening reservation. Being late is not an option in Germany! We made reservations in early October for Christmas week. We were a bit confused by the interior entrance. Returning several hours later, we joined a crowd of other 8 pm diners, and stood in the hallway. Basically, there is no waiting space, just an interior corridor, and no one checked in with a hostess. But, at precisely 8pm, a first group was welcomed by name, by the hostess, then, we were greeted, the door opened and we were seated. We were 4, and shared seating with another group of 4, and exchanged pleasantries in the few words we knew in European languages!
The menu is traditional, and in English. The restaurant is authentic and traditional, seasonally decorated! Service was friendly and efficient at our large table.
Food was served quickly, in generous portions. Our only disappointment was the kitchen ran out of the specialty crispy pork shoulder! We sampled several appetizers, and the plate was quickly emptied. A seasonal turkey entree was very good, as were the pork medallions. The salads were big and fresh.
Albrecht Dürer Stube was a lively, memorable, traditional German experience for our family while we visited the Markets! Wonderful choice!
Credit cards ok. Restaurant was about 20 minute walk from Sheraton Carlton Nuremberg.

This is a beautiful traditional restaurant, the food is highly recommended and the service very/extremely good. It is always fully booked and you have to book a table in advance.
The #Schäufele# is highly recommended, the portions are always large, as usual in Franconia.
Very tasty...

Very pleasant place inserted on the ground floor of a period half-timbered building with typical furniture of Franconian houses. The food is the classic of the region, excellent quality, well presented and served by efficient staff. Obviously it should be accompanied with a beer of which there is a wide choice. The only problem is that it is always full and often requires a reservation several days in advance. I am in Nuremberg frequently and this is my favorite restaurant, among other things centrally located and in a lively and friendly neighborhood.

Very good food at an almost reasonable price in the center of Nuremberg. The Schäuferle was great, but I was surprised by the horseradish soup, which was extremely tasty. So far, it was also the best cheese spaetzle I've tried in a restaurant. The service was very attentive, quick and of course very friendly. The ambience and the Franconian cuisine is very authentic. I'd be happy to go back and would highly recommend it!

A truly genuine German restaurant with traditional cuisine and decor. Located in the historic center of the city.
Despite this attracting plenty of tourists, the place has retained its genuine charm. The menu is highly traditional, with robust calorie- and carbohydrate-rich dishes.
Friendly attentive service.
It is best to book a table, going here by chance is a gamble.

Last evening in Nuremberg spent in this truly characteristic Bavarian-style restaurant. The simply perfect dinner. Excellent dishes served by people in traditional costume. I recommend the steak (which was more of a cut) with mushroom sauce and baked potatoes, the pork shoulder, the pork medallions with mushroom sauce. The side salad, which I never miss in Italy, was truly delicious.

Absolutely incredible meal from start to finish. We had a platter of sausages to share, and horseradish soup, as a starter. Then perfectly roasted pork shoulder and a mix of desserts including apple fritters that were sublime. Very good Bacchus wine too, and a lovely interior setting. The real gem though, was the soup. Can’t believe I’m saying this - but it was the finest thing we tasted in Bavaria, before any pork roast or more elaborate dish. Such a subtle flavour of horseradish, almost cooked in a bowl of melted clotted cream!
And the staff were a bonus too - I stupidly left my driving license in the restaurant and the staff agreed to post it back to the U.K. for me, at no cost!

Our dinner took place in a rustic house that had the vibe of a popular local dinner spot. We ordered a sirloin steak and a pork shoulder, the latter of which was at the recommendation of the host and deserves a special mention for being phenomenal. Overall, the food was both delicious and affordable. Although we are not from Germany, we could taste the authenticity in the cooking. We hope to come back someday!

This is a traditional restaurant with good quality food. It also has some local rums on its drinks list which are excellent. It does lunches on a few days of the week, but mainly it serves in the evenings. Close to the castle, but on a side street it is a good choice for a quiet lunch (on the right days).

Very popular and understandably so in view of its excellent food, ambience and value.
Essential to book and to be on time and you will be held to your 1.5-hour time slot and expected to share a table with other diners which adds to the overall enjoyment.
Portions are hearty, to put it mildly, and the choice and quality are very good.
Highly recommended.

Four of us went for dinner. We tried to reserve but were told they were fully booked but to try at 9 pm. Since it had very good reviews, we decided to do that although we had the back up of another restaurant further up the hill which was open till 10 (we checked).
We had to share a table with 4 other people. Or rather, they shared it with us as they'd reserved a table.
The interior of the restaurant is pretty memorable. The walls are covered with framed needlepoint pictures. And amazing lights.
The food was excellent. I had the crispy roast pork with crackling and potato dumpling. My husband had steak with mushroom sauce and sauce potatoes.
Our friends had pork with mustard sauce which they said was fantastic. I also tried the sparkling wine with strawberries which was very moreish.
My husband and I shared two desserts, creme caramel and apple fritters. Both very good.
Service was good too.
I'd be very happy to come back here again.

Turist place, nice location, everything inside looks like memories of a far past.
A lot of stuff placed anywhere but the place is overall clean.
Food is very normal, sort of typical, tasty even if not memorable.
Service is fine and quick.
Reservation is strongly recommended

After personal inquiry in the restaurant at 17:40 we 2 adults were unkindly turned away. The whole evening would be reserved. At 8:15 p.m. we saw through the windows that more than three tables were available. We ask repeatedly, unfortunately again the answer everything occupied and reserved .
You should consider whether it is right to treat guests in such a way.

This was by far my favorite meal of our entire trip. It's a much tinier restaurant than I was expecting and I sure am glad we made reservations as there was no way we would have been able to get in otherwise. If you know you will be visiting, I would reserve as early as possible. The pumpkin soup was my favorite. But everything we had was delicious so I don't think you can go wrong.
