Although the service was poor, the food was delicious and worth the wait! When we initially called in to make a booking there was no one available at first to take the booking and on arriving at the restaurant the same waitress (perhaps the owner's wife??) was still working, looked tired and was working very hard indeed, looking after everyone.... Restaurant with traditional atmosphere right in the old city where you can taste local specialties like schäufele. The service is a bit hasty, but we got here without reservation in a crowded evening (between Christmas and New Year's Eve) and anyway we were served quickly. The food was very good, beer was ordinary.

I liked the atmosphere they created.. the music, the things they say about life in Germany centuries ago, the apron for everyone... quite interesting. But as a vegan I had nothing decent to eat. May be the locals liked the food too, though.

We asked our taxi driver to take us somewhere we could get authentic German food..this place did not disappoint! It had German people eating there which was a good sign. The waitress was very friendly and helped us with our choices- we both had the pork shoulder with sauerkraut and potato dumpling and also shared some Nuremberg sausages..the food tasted... More

managed to get a table for two during a very busy period. Service excellent, very efficient and friendly. Food typical of the area which was perfect for my guest (from China) - superb quality and very tasty. Atmosphere very traditional and enjoyable which added to the enjoyment of the meal. Will happily visit again.

Very nice restaurant in an old basement. The food was very tasteful and there is enough to choose from. The waiter was very entertaining and helpful. Therefore I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a nice night out!

Do not even walk through their street which is located! SERVICE IS UNBELIEVABLE BAD! Worst in my life! Waited for 2 hours just we had is creepy green salad! Waitresses are extremely ARROGANT! They dont even say SORRY about their bad and dead slow service. I would not recommend this place even to my ENEMY! DONT GO!

We had dinner here with a group of work colleagues and while this is a good place for groups, at our table we did not enjoy the food. Being German, I do recognize local dishes, but these were especially badly executed. The soup was tasteless and consisted mostly of dumplings, the cold appetizers were simply bad and the bacon-wrapped quail... More

Had a great meal tonight. Pork shoulder with crackling, and all the German extras. The pilsner was second to none. Great atmosphere. Definitely return to this establishment.?

We went to cellar part of the restaurant. Very interesting decoration and atmosphere. Food was great and service was quite good. Kellerbier was awesome.
