This is an unpretentious restaurant which serves enormous portions of very good food at remarkably reasonable prices. My wife had an entire pork hock; and I had (what else) wurst and fried potatoes and sauerkraut. Much to our distress, neither of us could finish our plates. Good local beer; good local wine. Friendly and efficient service. And a lovely, busy... More

We had a wonderful traditional Bavarian meal. Sausage and kraut with fried potatoes was amazing! Homey atmosphere and a very friendly waitress, along with some good beer made for a great dinner in Rothenburg.

We were in town at the height of the Christmas market season, so this was not the place we were specifically recommended, but it was on the list we got from our hotel. We did reserve a table ahead of time, but perhaps wouldn't have had to, since the place wasn't that crowded. Most of the clientele seemed to be... More

Popped in for lunch and so glad that we did. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. I had bratwurst sauerkraut and potatoes and it was delicious as well as traditional, all the others had a fresh and tasty chicken salad. The waitress was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines and the menu. Well worth a visit

We found this place through Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. There were busloads of tourists over by the main square but this place is down a side street and in Kapellen Platz. We sat outside because it was a nice day. Service was prompt and menu was also in English. I had the beef Rollbraten which was served with... More

We had the sausage with sauerkraut. Came quick and tasted good! Service was good. People next to us had a dog and was no problem.

Stop here and have some great traditional food This is popular with the locals. Sit in the room on the left side as it has more local charm. Check to make sure a gratuity is included. It said service was included on the menu but the waitress told us otherwise when we were paying

Restaurant has better food than the tourist traps in the center of town. Breakfast is typical European fare with many choices. The food for lunch and dinner is also good German food. Soups and the spinach stuffed noodles were great. Like an omelette. Enough for two.

In terms of decoration it's not the typical cosy german restaurant we see in Rothenburg however the food is traditional and very good. Friendly service and average price (15€ per person).

It is difficult to find traditional German restaurants which also offer more than just one vegetarian option. Here we found quite a few (some vegan) including a delicious pumpkin soup, a vegetable strudel, tomato sauce stuffed dumplings with pumpkin sauce, potato-pumpkin pancake-hash browns and tasty sides including green salad served over potato salad, carrot and kraut salad. Yum! The special's... More
