Best selection of wines and a really amazing food quality. Rather on the expensive side, but since the oldest place in Wü (from 1498) , I say it's worth it. Apparently the rebellion against the prince bishop in 1500s was planned in this very place, so the place has a bit of history about it. Definitely recommend for that special... More

German restaurant with old time decor. We had asparagus with local Riesling. Food is okay, wine is not that impressive for me. Overall not bad at all. Worth visiting

Our German friends took us here for our first taste of real German food on our visit to Germany. We were not disappointed. The food, service & atmosphere are what you'd expect from an excellent eatery. I highly recommend it. As with many German restaurants , they have menus in English.

We were there for lunch and were extremely happy with the great ambience and the super food, and friendly staff. We will go again. Cost is lower than one might expect for location and excellence, wines were much appreciated. Great place.

The restaurant itself is beautiful from the outside and has a lot of character. On the inside, there are two sections, one is more for family and friend gatherings (on the right) which makes it a bit loud and difficult to have a conversation. The other section (on the left) is more intimate, quiet and looks appropriate for a couple... More

We visited this restaurant yesterday(booked the table in advance). Very nice and cozy place. We ordered cream soup, homemade tagliatelle and steak with potato gratin. All this we took to drink local wine. All liked very much. Recommend.

This is an excellent choice to try some of the most traditional food in this part of Germany. It is certainly worth a visit, since the place itself is really old and interesting. Reservation recommended.

The food and atmosphere here was very good. We had a large group of about 20 for lunch and the staff handled the resulting mayhem very well by placing us in a private area. Good, friendly service and food.

The pulse of Franconia beats in the heart of Wuerzburg. You can feel it ? Or rather taste it - in the historic surroundings of the Stachel, which is a restaurant and wine bar. As a wine bar, the Stachel offers the best wines in Franconia. There is wine tasting every Saturday in the restaurant's very own wine cellar. You also need something solid to line your stomach, so that the wine does not go to your head. Franconian delicacies and the presentation is creative. He cooks authentically using locally sourced ingredients which are mostly organic ? And it shows in the taste.
