We wanted to try traditional German food and hospitality and this did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and surroundings and good food at sensible prices. We had a very good evening.

Relaxed atmosphere within a historical environment with really interesting decor and interior. Great staff, who speak multiple languages and are very helpful. The food was both traditional and modern, very big portions at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great reception even though we were quite late for our booking and staff were friendly throughout. Menu is classic German so is a good intro to traditional cuisine. The atmosphere is quite beerkellar-ish and, of course, the beers are very good. I...More

It is on the quieter stretch of Oranienstrasse (where there are not as many bars and clubs as further east). I think this restaurant has moderate price (though not "cheap" by Berlin standard) and very nice traditional decoration. There are two levels, so it never...More

Took the UBahn out to Max and Moritz and are so glad we did. Spectacular goulash soup, followed by schnitzel for me and meatballs for my husband. Great to dine at a neighborhood place full of locals with great food!

We were recommended this place by some locals in the relatively nearby Corner bar on Mortizplatz. No reservation was made and the hostess managed to accommodate 8 of us within the very impressive dining room. It was described as typical Berliner food and it impressed!...More

Great local pub to enjoy a beer and authentic German meals amongst real people - looks like a place where groups of friends come to gather for a laugh and to break bread.

i should have gone with my gut and ordered the pigs knuckle but instead had the waitresses recommendation of a pork and noodle dish. sadly the pork was overcooked and rubbery and the noodles barely had any taste until i smothered them with the pork...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
