We saw this restaurant featured on Rick Stein's weekend programme and immediately wanted to go too! Advisable to book in advance as it was completely full. An adventure to find it which was was all part of the experience! Food was very high quality vegetarian food. My partner is not veggie but he loved it too. We opted for the... More

There is simply nothing bad to say. The experience starts when trying to find the place - a true treasure hunt :-). Entering the restaurant you are met by a very professional and service minded staff with a modern twist. The food is fabulous - even for a non vegetarian and so is the wines. Even the price is reasonably... More

I visited this wonderful restaurant in October 2016 together with my 15 year old son. The restaurant is really difficult to find, and there are no signs to guide you there. So pay attention that you find it! Once you find it, it is worth the while. The food was absolutely fantastic. Even though I am also a true fan... More

Had dinner with my daughter and we loved it. Manage to find it having seen other reviews. It has that private club vibe. The food is amazing - my daughter normally eats meat and is a convert. Great staff and would love to go back again if it wasn't such a long way from the UK.

We managed to squeeze into a late table on a Saturday night and it was worth the wait. Delicious, imaginative food at a reasonable price given the high standard. The out of the way location enhances the secretive atmosphere and the food was truly memorable. Recommended!

Wish I would live closer: my third visit at the Cookies - and it was even better. Small but excellent menue - great wine selection and very good service. An absolute great evening in a little eccentric location. The food is not only fantastic to eat, but to look at,too. I can only rave about this place.

We did not make reservations Tuesday at 7? Well I would suggest this is a must. Then figure out exactly where you are going.. very hard to find not your traditional entrance.. see some of the pictures. Our cab driver was reluctant to let us off!! But it was all worth it .. the food was beautifully presented and tasted... More

Great veggie restaurant is a hidden gem. Found down a loading bay to a major hotel. Started with a drink in the bar which was a little chaotic, with smoking allowed (unpleasant). The restaurant's up stairs so unaffected by the smoke. Seated by great waiting staff who spoke perfect English (thanks!). Ordered three courses of some of the tastiest and... More

Having seen this restaurant featured on a Rick Stein TV show we (8) arrived with extremely high expectations. Whilst it is good food, in the main, we collectively felt a couple of the dishes and the overall experience didn't quite hit the mark. That is not to say we didn't enjoy it or have a great time. The real stand-out... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
