Christmas Day and we had hoped to go to a wild boar burger joint but it was closed. As we walked back to the U we saw locals going in here so gave it a try. Full with family parties but if we didn't mind sharing a table with another couple they could squeeze us in. Excellent German food, great... More

I had a dinner in this very cosy german restaurant. Easy and convenient booking process through the website, very welcoming staff, nice and authentic atmosphere. The food is delicious, with a great variety of local german dishes at very reasonable prices.

We went for a christmas dinner after checking the trip advisors reviews. There was a special menu for christmas that it was really poor. The two of the three plates were ok but the portions were small. The other plate was disgusting. The beer was tasty the service was helpful expect from one of the staff that was rude. The... More

I've eaten here a few times now and I've been very satisfied every time. Big helpings of good traditional Berlin food, very reasonably priced and friendly service. Tap water was provided readily. A solid recommendation.

We booked in advance as we had a group of 9 people, however it is possible to just walk in. I would suggest to book the table as they are busy. Food was amazing. I suggested to all my friends to try Soljanka and they all loved it and I can say that it was really good, but of course... More

My girlfriend and I popped in here a few weeks ago. It was so busy that the only space was a seat at the bar. So we decided to just have a couple of drinks and people/food watch. We had some lovely crisp Riesling and local Black beer. The food being served smelt so amazing and was coming out in... More

This is a very Berliner place. We have been lucky to find this place indeed it is frequented most from Berliners and not from the tourists and/or foreigners then if you like to immerge in the Berliner atmosphere this is the best place. The menu isn't to big therefore the few things that he provides to you are very good,... More

The fact that it seemed full of locals chatting away was encouraging, and we were quickly welcomed in. Our meals were good and substantial, and quite affordable. The waiter was great - helpful and engaging, and looked after us well. It's not fancy nouvelle cuisine, but it's good nosh like you used to get at home, and with a pint... More

We had the roladen (one with dumplings one with potatoes). JUST like my parents made with buttered bread crumbs on the dumplings and potatoes. Big portions and cold beer =perfect ending to day touring Berlin. Highly recommend and service was great too!

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
