I can only recommend this place! The Indian food is amazing, an Indian colleague of my boyfriend actually recommended this place to us as being one of the only places in Berlin where you can get authentic Indian food. And we were amazed! I strongly recommend the chicken vindaloo if you like (really!) spicy food! The chicken madras is really... More

We have been looking for places in Berlin where they actually serve spicy Indian food. After trying several of them and almost giving up, we found this place. The food wasn't only spicy but super delicious too!

Good Indian by German standards. Come here often with my Indian colleagues, and while it is of course "westinized" it's one of the better places for lack of real Indian food...

The waiters are nice, the food is tasty and lunch goes by quickly. The place has a neighbourhood feel to it, and one can chill and enjoy a chat.

Today afternoon I visited this place for lunch and I have found that this restaurant is one of the best Indian restaurant in Berlin where they serve food with Indian taste and spices. Taste of the food was really good and the quantity was also sufficient for 2 people. Staff was really nice and welcoming. Will visit this place again... More

Zaika Indian Restaurant is a fine mid level Indian restaurant in a quietler part of Prenzlauer Berg. It is a happy hybrid of spicy and exotic Indian food with the gentle charm of restaurant dining in Berlin. This busy restaurant is in a lovely setting opposite Humannplatz park. Those dining outside, under the beer lamps of the restaurant (see photo),... More

Food quality is good but it was too spicy for us to handle despite being Indians. We asked the wait staff to make it slightly spicier than the normal European taste but I guess their Chef had something else in his mind because we got burnt after eating that food. It was like we were having tears in our eyes... More

Very hard to find affordable Indian in Europe. This restaurant was great. Curry fresh, naan was perfect. Cheap menu, awesome service and quick too! We will be back.

Zaika has been successful for many years now and for good reason. They offer a large menu of solid Indian favorites in consistently good quality. Monday through Friday they have great lunch specials where you can get a soup and a main with rice for under €5. Great place if you are on a budget. They offer indoor and outdoor... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
