I visited Berlin on a 3 day city break with friends. We visited this restaurant all three days for either breakfast/ dinner or drinks. Staff are very friendly and the menu is well varied. Food is good

The staff is friendly and the location is good if you live nearby or stay in a hostel/hotel. The servings are massive and for the price it is a very good deal. However, the place looks a bit shabby (as well as the toilets).

Great schnitzel, English menus, and great service. Great place to grab a quick bite or to sit and enjoy great conversation with candle light. We had the snack schnitzel, which was a great portion for a regular meal and at a reasonable price. It was so good the first time that we when back the next day for more!

We ate here twice when staying nearby. The food was very good indeed and the service was, if anything, better. Fresh, filling German food very well prepared. It was busy, busy not so much that we had to wait. Sat outside both times although there was ample room inside, too. The staff coped very well with the sudden rainstorm on... More

We were a group of 16 ladies and dined at Lichtblick for a late lunch. Selection of food on the menu was excellent, and we could also choose from the menu of the day. A great variety to suit everyone. The service was very good and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We all wished to pay separately... More

Five of us went here having been travelling all day and starving. The Schnitzel was enormous and delicious and the Käsespätzle with bacon was one of the best I have had. the service was friendly and efficient.

Popped in here for a couple of cocktails and they were great. Good list and reasonable price too. Staff also seemed very pleasant.

This place is mostly patronised by locals and does a fantastic trade. The wait staff are first class and the barman is fantastic. We dined here for lunch twice and four evenings out of five for dinner-you might say we were impressed!!!Reasonably priced wines and spirits(large selection)are available. We will definitely be returning to this happy, busy place.

I really enjoyed dining here. They offer the classic German fare; and everyone in my party all got the wiener schnitzel; not one plate had any food left on it. This place is awesome. I forgot the brand of beer they serve but I just asked for the Pils (pilsner) and it was so good I had to order another... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
