A rather small cafe with about 8 tables, cozy and with a lot of attention to detail. Very nice atmosphere, very attentive service, great food of high quality. We had the "sugarplum fairy": pancakes with blueberries, toasts with butter, scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, and fresh fruits, coffee and tea. All in all we had a very nice breakfast and... More

Sometimes, life gives your lemons and, if bothered, you can make lemonade. Perhaps you could zest it over a fillet of salmon? It's up to you. Sometimes, life gives you sweet potato. Sometimes, rarely, a culinary wizard will put this in an omelette with some baby spinach, sour cream and sun dried tomatoes and give you a mouth orgasm. Hell,... More

Went for a late brunch/breakfast and it was great. The pancake are amazing. Location is really nice, only a few chairs/tables makes the place very homing.

Service is friendly and helpful, interior is refined and the cakes are varied and delicious. Cheesecake within a carrot cake? It's like a dream! Try the Sugarplum breakfast with eggs, homefries and bacon with pancakes toast and fruit. It's so reasonable and everything is perfect.

It is always disappointing when you go to a place with good reviews, and it doesn't live up to the expectations - at all! I came with two friends on a saturday morning. With two people in the kitchen and two in the restaurant in such a tiny cafe, you'd expect service to go fairly quick. To make a veeeery... More

We have spent much of our trip trying to get our kids to eat. Well that changed here. We ordered 3 pancakes which were the fluffiest ever with raspberries. And a waffle with syrup. My husband and I ordered a meses like special. Everything was incredible. The kids inhaled the food. And the yogurt with candied pistachio topping was the... More

I literally stumbled onto this restaurant when I took a different from the one I usually use to get to my hotel. I looked at the day's suggested menu posted outside on a billboard and was intrigued. The place was nearly filled at 4 in the afternoon and I wasn't even sure I could order what I saw posted. I... More

Myself and my family visited Berlin for a family members 70th birthday. We found this cafe whilst wondering around Berlin. The food, service and staff are fantastic.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
