You need to worry when asked 'Can you speak English?' by the maitre d'. Who then says, 'Nice One' when you affirm that you can. In the centre of Berlin, Capital of Germany. His German was not very good he said. Say no more..... Worry even more when a concept is explained and then 50% of the concept was not... More

Went based on friends reviews. And, I wasn't let down. The cool factor or the hotel and restaurant is not even up for debate. Cool Kids hang here full stop. Anyways, like it or not. Hipster or not. It's a gem in my mind.. The dishes are very decent priced too considering the produce is organic and local. The Green... More

Last night I visited the Michelberger for the first time, and I can't wait to go back! The concept is: food to share. Each of us ordered 3 plates and we shared everything. I can highly recommend the duck, braised pork croquettes and the churros with chocolate sauce. But pretty much everything was very tasty. Ask for a table in... More

Food is great, but the staff really rude (when we arrived we were told we only had 30min to have breakfast, we literally had our plates taken away from us 30mins later on) - this is rather uncommon for German standards where the informal rule has always been the bar/restaurant closes when the last customer leaves. Either you don't let... More

Let's start with the place - a hip hotel with a very relaxed lobby which merges into the very good bar. As is typical in a place like this in Berlin, most of the staff are American/Australian/British with a sprinkling of Germans. Staff are friendly, the interior is stylish - without being forced. The lighting is subdued, music st the... More

Super friendly staff, delicious food and hip atmosphere. The bar is also really cool and they do good cocktails. As a Spaniard, of course I have to be critical with the dessert that was "Churros con chocolate", the churro itself were actually very good, but the chocolate was way too liquid to dip it. Everything else was just perfect. I... More

Located near the Warschauer Str. S-Bahn station, the restaurant/hotel is in a great location and is easy to find. The interior is nice and comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were wonderful. We ordered a few dishes but the one that stood out (and we had to re-order that) was the pumpkin beignets with autumn truffles. I would... More

I went to this restaurant without knowing what to expect, and it blew me (and my girlfriend) away. This restaurant might be the best restaurant we've been to this year. The serving staff was very friendly and down-to-earth. No fancy dinner-tables or manners needed, and that's how I like it. But the food... god, the food was just amazing. Always... More

Description
We use organic ingredients in our kitchen and if possible, locally grown and produced by farmers in the Brandenburg countryside. Every morning, 7 - 11am weekdays and 8am - 12pm weekends, we start our day with a delicious, healthy and nutritious buffet with homemade jams and spreads. It's a breakfast to power you up rather than weigh you down. Dinner, served from 6:30 - 11pm, from Tuesday to Sunday, is organic and local as ever, but with a more fine-dining take on things.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
