I've eaten here 3 times and at the "Eastside" one once and have always been satisfied. The food is very good and the margaritas are classically excellent! Yesterday was their 7 year anniversary and I jumped at the chance to take advantage of their all evening happy hour!

The food we had in Santa Maria was gorgeous. The only thing I would say is not to go too late in the night like we did, as the service was quite slow. We arrived just after 9 o'clock. I'd recommend going early and taking advantage of their delicious margaritas at happy hour.

Really good mexican food. Really small tables and place to sit. Would not recommand it if you're a tall person who needs leggroom. Margarita's are delicious!

It's a cute colorful small place with a good choice of mexican food. The price is ok, good for the price (a bit above 10€ without drinks for the main dish and the upsize option- rice, black beans and tortilla chips). Great mexican fresh taste. The tacos are a bit small, but great taste. The staff is also excellent.

Food was great and place is also very nice, has nice interior. Waiter was really helpful as well. But definite highlight is beef quesadilla, it was absolutely perfect!

Went here one evening for dinner as we fancied Mexican food. The restaurant was smaller than anticipated but as we didn't book, a 20 min wait didn't seem too bad. We were sat quite quickly and service was great. I had great choice as a veggie (had quesadilla with quorn chorizo) and the cocktails were delicious. Quite reasonably priced too.... More

Had a great meal here. Only issue was very busy and only one waitress so had to get own drinks. Would recommend if in the area, the best Mexican food I have ever had!

I visited here in December 2016 with 4 friends upon recommendation from another friend who had previously visited. We had to wait over an hour for a table as it is quite a small restaurant and very popular, however, there is a cool bar across the road (unsure of name) where we went for cocktails so the wait was no... Santa Maria is the biggest and busiest Mexican restaurant in Berlin. Santa Maria has a tradition of typical Mexican street food with favourites such as tacos al pastor and chilaquiles, with a full bar offering a range of mezcales, tequilas and cocktails. Santa Maria is famous for Taco Tuesdays (offering 1€ tacos and tequilas), a pumping atmosphere, fast service and late nights on weekends.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
