Was refused service without explanation by the waitress. We tried to make an effort to speak in German and offered to split the group (7 of us) or sit outside and we're rudely shouted at.

Well, it is service that disappoints here, not the food, if you read all of my reviews, you will see I try and bit fair and honest, when thing are excellent I will say so, but for such comments to hold value, one has to be straight when things are not so good. At this venue, it felt from the... More

So good we went back again! Had the French toast and the perfect gentlemans breakfast. Both were so filling and healthy. Service was good and friendly. The outside section was a good idea and nice and warm with the heaters! Well worth a visit for breakfast if in Berlin!

Lovely cafe with friendly staff. It gets busy so be prepared to wait for a table (although you can reserve tables). I recommend the waffles!

It was quite difficult to even order drinks, with various things from the menu not being available. Next my (vegetarian) order got mixed up with meat. When remarking on the mistake the waiting and kitchen staff rolled their eyes to each other as if that was my fault. Not impressed.

The dishes very fine, but nothing that special (e.g the pancakes are frozen). We waited more than 45 minutes and there weren't many tables to serve. I asked for some bread while eating the soup and it arrived when I had already finished. I even had to go and get the cutlery on my own. Definitely overpriced considering the poor... More

Ate here when i was visiting Berlin, breakfast was beautiful! Your breakfast will come with some greens, but if you're visiting Berlin, i'd expect you'll be walking a good distance, so a bit of healthy food can't be a bad thing! 10/10 for service too, great English spoken by the staff, and a great service! Can't fault this place at... More

Huge range of breakfast options and all look delicious. Ordered the Lumberjack: crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, French toast and maple syrup served with a huge portion of salad. Absolutely delicious food and worth it for an occasion.

This looked like a promising alternative to the usual and indeed it was. Loads of options but probably a little too much green stuff for me (i.e. healthy!) - all the options we tried came with lots of leaves and the ommelette was spinach heavy. The staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English and if you are there early... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
