If you like coffee, this is the place to be! The real taste of coffee, brewed to perfection as an espresso or filtered - or capuccino, if you prefer. It is amusing to watch the technique of the coffee expert as he drip brews many jugs of coffee in the middle of the room. Small, but cozy. always crowded with... More

Everything about this place was spot on, apart from the coffee. The latte art is superb, the interior edgy and the place has a nice feel to it. The staff are a bit inattentive though and seem to be in a world of their own. The coffee was bland and honestly felt like I was sipping on warm milk. Its... More

Bonanza Coffee Haus at Oderberger Strasse 35 has what some consider to be the best coffee in Berlin. In Europe? Service is measured and thoughtful and I had a memorable cappuccino late in the day. The bar keep assured me that their coffee was so pure, it would not make me jittery. Also, consider getting the vegan cookie which tastes... More

As I wrote above, the coffee is perfect, so I strongly recommend to visit Bonanza Coffee. I will return there by my next visit in Berlin. The Service is very polite and helpful. They have everything what you need to prepare as well a coffee at home. I bought as well some grains to taste the coffee at home.

The cafe is located in a neighborhood with alternative shops . The cafe is nice and minimalist design , but not cozy . The coffee is of high quality and perfectly brewed , but the service is impersonal and industrial . We asked for their famous vegan chocolate , but was told that they ONLY had what was on the... Cozy and welcoming place with fantastic coffee selection make it worthwhile visiting. I was stunned to watch the crowd queuing for their coffees through the room.

We went to have a cappuccino and it was one of the best that we had in a long time. It was smooth it did not leave a burnt aftertaste. The service was quite quick. This place is small and very homy.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
