All of our three waiters were very stressed (they didn't even made eyecontact) and wouldn't wait a minute for another order. the dishes (served in little bowls) are made for sharing, which is actually pretty cool! the dishes itselves are on the average. they do not have surprising meals or drinks nor a big choice of desserts, but this is... Enjoyed the food here so much we went twice within a three day trip. Not over priced. Can only pay with cash or German debit card. Would definitely recommend. Fran's Faves: Wonton soup, green curry, the tucked in noodle dish, crispy pork belly, great sticky rice.

So first a disclaimer, being oriental and eating copious amounts of "Asian" food over the years, I'm an uber-skeptic of "fusion" food as I deem most restaurants serving this Frankenstein's monster neither here nor there, ending up in a pile of overpriced hybrid mess. Having said that the food at Transit is spectacular! Taste, flavour, presentation - all there. The... More

I am from United States, we have authentic Thai restaurants, my friend owns one, and the flavor is incomparable. At transit restaurant, the food was bland, I dare say not authentic as the cook looked Spanish or middle eastern, and the service was extremely slow, and rude and even when I tipped my waitresss she still didn't say thank you... We visited this place for a fast dinner before the concert in Mercedez Benz Arena nearby. The main idea is to choose from the small dishes are served as appetizers. We chose six dishes (including duck - very delicious, schrimps, salads etc.). Every dish is for 3,5 €. They also served Asian beers, for example Tiger. Very nice place, the... More

This place is amazing! Every dish we ordered was delicious and the service was fantastic. We wandered in without a booking and they managed to accomodate us even though they were full. The prices dont look cheap but it turned out to be great value for money considering the quality and the really nice setting.

The Transit is for sure on the top 3 of my favourite restaurants in Berlin. You can order all the little plates you want, and they are all so amazing.. It's definitely near the orgasm when you eat it. Really. It's cheap, and all the team is wonderful, my boyfriend and I always let them some tips. They are all... More

The restaurant is very narrow and slightly cramped. However, the small plates were good. If you are vegetarian, this is a good option as they will make any dish with tofu. It was hard to get the serves attention, after our food was delivered. For this reason, we didn't get second round of drinks or desert, because by the time... More

If you like small oriental dishes and plenty this is the place to go, each one is 3.5 euro and the variety is large, enjoyed it very much

This was a novel dining experience for me- asian fusion food served tapas style. You complete your own order slip by checking the box of the items you want. The dishes have quirky names like party girl or totally nude. each menu item has an explanation in english so ordering is easy. It's busy and popular with local people which... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
