This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've found in Berlin so far (though admittedly that's not saying much), and certainly the best value. For anyone who is looking for a respite from the cream-filled blandness that is served at 99% of the Indian places here, give this place a try. Complex flavors, a couple of interesting menu items,... Best indian food i ever had. Friendly service , genuine prices and delicious food. I can't recommend a single dish because everything we tried, it may be vegetarian or non-vegetarian had its own different taste. Loved it!!

We came without a reservation on a Friday night and the place was packed! The owner didn't let us wait much and managed to arrange something to our big party after 10 minutes. I'm a regular customer of Guru. The food was amazing as always! Best Indian food in Berlin, by far (and I tried a lot).

I love Indian food and I tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Berlin. All of them are good, but pretty much the same. Guru is an exception. The food, although familiar, is made with the best products and spices, and you feel it in your mouth. The service is great and the prices are ridiculous. Don't miss the Gulab... More

Excellent find while being candidly a bit lost in the Kreuzberg neighborhood of Berlin. This place was doing a lively business in the restaurant and take out. The food was superb and well priced. I highly recommend.

We've spent a dinner in this restaurant (2 couples of friends) and we ordered different kinds of indian foods (chicken tandoori, naan...). Everything was delicious. The waiters were polite. The kitchen was quite clean and also the barhrooms are really cleaned too. We spent also a little bit lower than what we expected. Rating: very good.

Good Indian menu, and well priced. Almost everything on the menu tastes well, except the day Manu (bit cheaper), in my opinion. Otherwise, very good Indian food! Tried gulab jamun, tasted like made in India. Go ahead and have fun!

With our teenage girls we went to this cheap place. We try to pick different plates and share whenever we can; so we took the 17, 301, 302 and a chicken curry. Food was certainly good but not more than that in my view (I admit my wife and children were more positive than I was....). Taking into account the... More

I visited this place many times i one period when i was dating one crazy german girl. This place is not much to look at but dont be fooled. Even though the whole place look weared out and spartansk in its ambient, the food is some of the best indian food i tasted ever! Remeber why you people go out... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
