On a business dinner with a colleague and we ordered the Peking Ente with 8 pancakes, fried noodles, beef with pepper sauce and red curry with chicken. What you have to know about this restaurant is that the names of the menu items do not do the dishes justice. The duck was phenomenal... and I've eaten the best Peking duck... More

Food not of greatest quality. The dim sums and other starters are really nice however the main dish was not good. Average chinese restaurant!

Ate lunch at Jolly, which is very close to Museum Island. Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the special smells of Asian cuisine - a good indication that this isn't just another restaurant that tries hard but don't deliver. We've ordered several dishes, including the famous Peking duck and also dim sum. The tastes were delicious and authentic... More

A clean restaurant and functional meals gives this 3 out of 5. Plenty of meat options but very limited vegetarian and vegan choices. Good disabled facilities. Prices are reasonable. Weirdly you have to ask for chopsticks if you want them...

It was our last day in Berlin and we had been sight seeing that morning. We saw this restaurant across from the Pergamon and decided that Chinese food would be good. We were greeted and seated quickly by a friendly waitress. She ended up looking after us and she was lovely. All the staff speak great English too, which is... More

I had roast duck red thai curry which was one of the best I have tasted. Very generous portion and lovely taste. WIne was good too. Staff were efficient but not very friendly. This was the only aspect of the restaurant that let it down. Otherwise, for quality of Asian cuisine, I would definitely recommend.

I went to jolly because it was the only restaurant near the museums that seemed decent to me. I went their expecting a takeout place but instead I found an excellent Chinese place with all different kind of meals and moderate pricing. The plates were full to the brim and me and my family received great service as well as... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
