Ate here a few times during our stay in Berlin. Good food, good service, casual dining, plenty of seating.

This is a very typical chain in which you are your service. Queue, grab your (a bit overpriced) food and sit in one of the long tables to eat it. The place is cool, clean, modern, well located and with a lot of flair. A good place to go grab dinner and some beers if you are around the area!

Restaurant part of food court in Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Had a very nice smoked salmon sandwich here, take away. Other seafood items looked pretty good.

If you have an appetite and a bit of time to spare at the Central station, this place could be an option for you. We had a good fish soup and a shrimp salad for very little money. Beer and wine are also available. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called.

For price, convenience, quality, and consistency, Gosch Sylt is perfect for train travelers and commuters. I order Matjesbrötchen nearly every time I go there and have never been disappointed. The bread, fish, and onions are invariably fresh and tasty. Great snacks and a bargain!

When in Hauptbahnhof, we like to drop by. Nice choice of sandwiches (also warm dishes, not tried yet), wit northsea shrimp, lovely eel, bismarck hering... great typical Berlin no nonsense staff, reasonably priced

I have had to wait for my delayed train on my last visit to Berlin. So I spend my time at Gosh with my colleague having fish meal and a glass of wine. Not so good as the original Gosh in Sylt but always worth to visit

This place is really one of a kind. Whenever I change trains or stop in Berlin Hauptbahnhof, I rush to get a seafood meal from Gosch Sylt. Be it their smoked or cooked salmon or their herrings, they provide excellent meals and sandwiches. Of course I am not speaking about a dinner restaurant, but rather about a restaurant frequently visited... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
