If you enjoy Turkish food you can’t go wrong here. Busy warm atmosphere with attentive waiting staff and even a live guitar player in the background. Would recommend the chicken skewers, rice and salad. And then a complimentary glass of Turkish raki to end the...More

Went on a Sunday evening and the place had plenty Kreuzberg 'locals' inside enjoying the great Turkish food. Situated on a lovely residential street overlooking the canal just off the main road. Would recommend a visit. Best hummus I've ever tasted plus great kebabs. Staff...More

This was my second trip to Defne and the second time I traipsed across Berlin in search of perfectly cooked octopus. Once again, it exceeded expectations. The food is pure joy on a plate and portions are generous. Two words of warning. 1). do not...More

A group of 11 of us went to this restaurant for a post marathon dinner. The service was great and the food superb. It was reasonably priced and the food options diverse enough for all pallets. The whole group would highly recommend it.

I thought this was a Turkish restaurant but its name should have warned me. The offer is a mixed one, so there are some Turkish dishes along with other dishes of the Mediterranean area (spaghetti included). It has some tables outside and some inside. If...More

On a rainy cold night in Berlin we were looking for a nice restaurant for dinner with a 1 year old - we certainly found one. The food was great, the beer and wine excellent and the service perfect. We are going back again tonight!...More

At first I thought that the dish looked a bit dry with just meat and bulgur. But when you start eat and the meat is that juicy and perfectly grilled you don't need any tzatsiki or whatever. Even the bulgur was juicy and cooked to...More

A great Turkish restaurant that you should give a visit too. The service was great, despite getting caught in a mini-hurricane and all the outside diners having to be relocated around us they still managed to keep on top of things fairly well. The octopus...More

We took the U bahn to Kottbusser Tor and walked down the road to cross the canal. The restaurant is a couple of hundred metres pleasant canal side walk down the residential road which features old mansion blocks. It was a sunny May evening and...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can
both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central
neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the
1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around
Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s,
rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a
carefree life here. An old hospital even became a
hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
