The atmosphere is slightly upper class bistrot with very professional waiters speaking quite good french. The meat was fantastic, I like it raw - bleu in french -, and the fries allumettes were really good. The red wine - a côte du rhône - was OK but they could really improve the quality of the wines by the glass. I... More

I could never visit Berlin without visiting Entrecote with my good friends and enjoy the wonderful hospitality from Entrecotes perfect host, Gudrun. This is simply one the most wonderful restaurants in Berlin and the best French kitchen in town, I am certain about that. I have visited Entrecote thirteen times and the dining experience has always been unique. As I... More

The food was delicious, meat cooked to perfection!! Takes time to get your food, so don't go if you want quick food, but the service is lovely and it's worth it. Don't miss the chocolate fondant for dessert!

Foie Gras and Coq au Vin were excelent. Service OK, but a bit slow. My wife had Bouef Bourguinone and was also good. Unexpensive Cote du Rhone is served, with more expensive options on the menu,

Saw this restaurant as walking past from our hotel to Check Point Charlie, checked out the menu and booked for that evening. It was a Saturday night and fairly busy. The service was excellent, our waiter spoke some English and was able to answer all of our questions asked in relation to the wording of the menu. The food was... More

Had a group dinner and the restaurant gets busy. Service was slow maybe because of the huge numbers. Food took almost 1 hour before being served. I had Le coq au vin which was just average in taste. Not sure I can return.

Outstanding atmosphere and food. Excellent onion soup. The entrecôte is cooked to perfection and the staff is friendly and efficient. Not cheap, but highly recommended.

Fantastic French Cuisine but the water was very expensive...we weren't offered tap, albeit we had the sommelier upgrade our wine choice. Otherwise a great venue.x

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
