Typical Bavarian restaurant (so for non-Germans, think of a typical German pub in your home city and you're probably pretty close). The food consists of all different kinds of meat, a lot of chicken. I went for the pork knuckle as I haven't had a bad one in Germany before. The cracking was excellent and I washed it down with... More

Nice stop from a short walk from the museum sector. The four of us ordered a sausage plate and a cheese spread and four pretzels. A perfect snack and stop from walking. The wheat beer is delicious. A bit too sunny so we sat inside. Good bathroom facilities, but don't expect a quick lunch.

Weihenstephaner is located within the bustling Hackeschen Markt area, easy walking distance from Museum Island and other sites of the Mitte. Bringing tavern culture of the Alps to Berlin. Expect outstanding beers from Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan – the oldest brewery in the world – and exceptional food from the foothills of the Alps in Bavaria as well as the... More

It's a nice place to spend a sunny afternoon sipping on some good Weihenstephaner beer. The food is pretty expensive and just okay but not too bad to accompany the stuff.Must try the non-alcoholic beer too, something interesting.

Weihenstephan is one of my favourite beers and I particularly like the Hefeweissbier. My partner and I love coming to this pub/restaurant for the excellent beer and food. The style is traditional Bavarian.

When visiting Berlin, one definitely needs to have a good German meal and although it will be hard to find a "non tourist trap", this restaurant did have a good feel to it when we entered (although it is ofcourse touristy....). The ladies that serve are a bit too over/underdressed... however it suits the environment, service is efficient, but don't... More

From plates of sausages, to Frauleins walking around in traditional German outfits, this place has it all. Great food and even greater beer. If you want a plate of sausage served to you by a woman capable of holding 6x1 litre tankards in each hand, this is the place.

We love a good beer and Weihenstephan is one of the best. This traditional style beer hall has lots of different areas for eating and drinking. Good choice of beers and pretty extensive menu too. Staff were friendly and the pub was warm and inviting. Definitely a favourite of ours.

Weihenstephaner you just know you have come to the right place...that is if your are a beer lover. This lunch brake made my day, truth being told. Newly renovated it appears, with a busy staff all good, I had the Haxengrostl for lunch, if they only had used more haxe meat instead of cutlets this might have been the treat.... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
