I went here in October 2016 as a treat and it was an amazing experience. Although, a lot of the cakes have a dark chocolate element, and therefore are more adult themed. But I did manage to find a white chocolate and raspberry cake, which was really elegant and sweet. If I were you, I would book like myself if... More

Excellent shop, with tens of different kinds of chocolates. The store is beautifully decorated, including huge chocolate reproductions of highlights of Berlin, such as the Fernsehturm (tv tower) or the Reichstag (Parliament).

Sitting in the corner seat looking out at Deutscher Dom in a chocolatiers estalished in 1863 made me feel quite glam ☺ Much rather visit here than a Starbucks: €10 for a lovely hot chocolate and patisserie style mousseline cake! The chocolate shop downstairs had amazing chocolate models too

We didn't book and managed to be seated within 10 mins Best hot chocolate I've ever had, think it was around €5 which was decent. Also the shop downstairs is well worth a look around, some of the chocolate sculptures are incredible

We queued for about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon as it was so busy. Its a must for any chocolate lover. Hot and cold chocolate drinks were nice and so was the fondant thing we ordered.

Well worth the wait. The hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. The food is unique with the chocolate theme in all the dishes, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the chocolate enhanced the flavors of the dishes. Be sure to leave room for desert!

If you are in the center of Berlin as a couple, I would definitely recommend this place for a break. It has a nice view, the staff is friendly, the coffee is good, but above all the chocolate cakes are great. They look nice and taste very well!! Nice diversity and not too expensive.

This establishment is magic- it is understandably popular and busy. Downstairs there are large chocolate sculptures of iconic famous buildings and airplanes etc, and a wonderful variety of chocolate- all strengths (milk chocolate to serious 80 percent dark vatieties), many flavours - including dried fruit, almonds, peanuts etc, and the jams- chocolate and sour cherry, chocolate and cranberry. For the... More

Lovely chocolate cakes with a glass of sparkling Riesling. Good way to start the evening - having dinner In reverse. Also thank you to the waitress who very kindly found my wallet (fell out of my coat) and brought it back to me safely - you are a star.

This cafe has the best hot chocolate I have ever had. My husband and I initially went on a Sunday but the queue was very long so we came back the next day and were only waiting about minutes. We had two hot chocolate and two tortes which were also delicious. You do need to go hungry and the hot... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
