In a nutshell: There are plenty of better places in Berlin. You should definitively pick another one. This one isn't "bad", but it's clearly not worth the money, and the quality is very average. Now, there's a running gag going on in this restaurant: - La raclette suggests a French Restaurant but nobody speaks French there - "La Raclette"... The... More

Staff unfriendly . Raclette cheese was tasteless , meat was not tender and too long to cook. We asked to cook them and it was done in the microwave ... In a restaurant , cook meat in the microwave , I can not believe it . the prices are exorbitant and eat small pieces of cheese , 2 meat kebabs... More

I don't write very often on Tripadvisor. But after this awful evening, I thought it was gonna be the first thing I would do the next day. We were a big table of French ladies, out on our monthly dinner. First, beware, the place is super, super hot. There's a fire pit in the room for the raclette machines -... More

I'd never experienced Swiss cuisine and now I understand that raclette is kind of the go-to dish, but whatever. There was a really cozy fireplace and the service was attentive. The raclette grill was really cool, the food yummy, and the wine delicious. This was a great find, highly recommended.

Went here with two friends on a Friday evening. Tables are so close together it very uncomfortable. Very smokey from the kitchen and fire so thst the air felt very stuffy. Service was terrible we had to ask for a menu and were shown a blackboard with the food and drinks. Most dishes were in French and we had to... More

We went with a party of six, and while the food was good, I wouldn't recommend going with more than four people. We only had one grill between us (as we would have with only two people), so it was almost 10 minutes between 'turns' for people to be able to eat. Additionally, as I'm a vegetarian, I asked about... Food was great, service was excellent, it was a nice afternoon in Berlin so we did not want to sit inside, and the tables outside had people smoking, so the waitress asked us if we wanted to have dinner inside this old VW bus that was parked on the side of the restaurant, it was empty with just a table... I know it may sound a little odd going to a French restaurant in Berlin, but we wanted a romantic restaurant for our anniversary. The food was amazing, rivaling any dinner we had in Paris. Even though it was June (and truly a bit chilly) there was a wood burning fire, very romantic. What made it even more romantic was... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
