Doing a cycle tour away from tourist crowds and then hang out a bit at Van Loon for doing some Brotzeit and refreshment! Yes this is the real thing on a sunny afternoon!

We sat upstairs for a family gathering. Food, coffee, and drinks were good and the service friendly, not exactly super-fast, though. Great view (with great weather).

We went to there with my friends on sunday. The waiters, the ambiance and all the seafoods were perfect. There was a musician man and the weather was sunny.

Had drinks and snacks at van loon yesterday as it was docked in its usual Paul lincke ufer location. Wonderfully relaxing location, food looked great and will definitely return as the open kitchen and restaurant below deck both looked very promising.

We have been there for the breakfast and for the lunch several times. The sea food was excellent, prices are quite affordable and the service is perfect, especially the lady from Philippines who remembers us from our previous visit 3 months before. She was very attentive and very customer oriented.

It is a miracle, how they brought this huge restaurant ship to the Urbanhafen. It is definitely one of the nicest spots in Berlin for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner - on deck or inside this amazing piece of german engineering art. Highly recommended to go here and do not miss the BBQ in summer.

So nice to sit in a ship by the water, while enjoying your breakfast in peace! the chef works behind the bar and peacefully prepares great toasties.

We went with my family to visit Berlin on Holidays and we where just so lucky to fins this amazing restaurant. The service was excellent and food to. My father who was exhausted after a long walk around Berlin got instantly revitalized by their fish soup. It looked much more expensive that what actually was. We where three persons and... More

We already had the opportunity to dine at the Vanloon ship itself, a great place to hang out at the shore of the canal - the Landwehrkanal - and enjoy a meal and a couple of drinks. The choice of white and red vines are excellent. The other weekend we were dining at the mobile cruiseship "Philippa", discovering the city... More

We were here in the summer and sat outside on the deck with a view to the water. The good points: (a) wonderful brunch, coffee and croissants, friut, jam, cheeses but it was also possible to order smaller portions; the prep going on belowdecks for the next proper meal looked professional and good, (2) super nice and attentive wait staff,... Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
