Spur of the moment lunch choice with good service and old world atmosphere. I had the wiener schnitzel and it was delicious! The veal was very crispy and the potato/cucumber salad creamy and crunchy. Both parties of diners on either side of me were enjoying the same thing. Must be a popular spot for this dish. Fun to watch those... More

On advice of locals I went here for a meal and the Wiener Schnitzel was the dish I was told to have, and I did. The Schnitzel was veal, as it should be, and was nice...but not as good as in Vienna. Maybe I am spoiled by having had the original, it surely wasn't bad, and the authentic style and... More

That is a cozy place on the one of the main streets, just in front of the tram stop. Nice service and atmosphere. My food didn't impress me a lot. But it might be due to 'traditional and healthy' tag, the food carried :)

Popped into the Cafe Heider on two occasions over 2 days whilst visiting Potsdam. The first occasion was for a coffee and snack (kuchen) and enjoyed the experience and atmosphere of this little restaurant enticing enough to make a return visit the following day. On the second visit we enjoyed a light lunch and some nice refreshments. They have a... More

Before we went to the Christmas Market we stopped for hot chocolate and three weakened and had the apple strudel which was excellent especially with the vanilla sauce. I was different and had a local dish their version of meat balls which was also tasty. Try the chilli hot chocolate which has very interesting heat and sweetness

Lovely place for lunch, coffee, dinner or just a beer. The atmosphere is that of an coffee house at 1900. Its lovely. Traditional German food, cakes and drinks. It is easy to find. Walk toward Nauener Tor. There are few more nice places in and around the gate. The Heider is located on the right.

Café Heider is an institution, more than 100 years old, with an austrian coffee house style. Decorated with old pictures on the walls, warm and cosy atmosphere. Authenticity, character ... We sat outside on the large terrace under the trees. We could enjoy the great location by the Nauener Tor. We took traditional dishes for our dinner : potatoes soup,... More

Came here after a wander around the palaces and Potsdam city center for coffee and cake. Ordered four coffees and three pieces of cake and it was all delicious. The cakes were stunning and we left satisfied.

Popped in to rest upon a terrace seat during all the nights entertainment. Great location by the tower with a band playing. The service was great and friendly. And the prices reasonable too 🍻 Ideal place to relax and enjoy 🍾
