I am originally from Hamburg but have never been to this place before. I invited my parents before taking them to a concert in the close by Mehr!-Theater. From the outside the place does not look like a restaurant at all. It looks if it will fall over in a matter of seconds and it is placed right next to... More

Be ready to eat on a leaning table in a little bending building squeezed between a larger one and the railway bridge. Simple food, but well prepared and with a very fair price. Not many seats available, so it is better to book

Lovely cute restaurant just outside the harbor. Really cool because it slants to one slide giving a surreal impression on the inside.

Went here with a group of 30 for a business dinner (90% of us were from other countries). We took up the entire first floor and were very cozy. They provide the most authentic German experience we had all week – great beer and fun food. While I was not crazy about everything we ate, I tried everything! The service... More

You need to be sure where you going to enter Oberhafenkantine but it's worth it if you love original german dishes and bier. And the actual sloping building, you need take the two bier to get it straight again. My portion germen bratwurst with potatosalad was perfect for my taste of sense. Service, njaa, in my opinnion suitable for place.... More

What fun to eat in this basic rustic and very quirky restaurant with a large group of friends. The food is home cooking of typical German salads, sausages, meatballs without too much protein for a vegetarian but with delicious tiny soup starter, lots of bread and too much to tastefully arrange on your own plate.

I decided to check this place out because it was featured on Lonely Planet's "Top Picks" for Hamburg. I relied heavily on their recommendations throughout my time in Germany, and they did not disappoint with the exception of Oberhafen Kantine. We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday which you think would be the beginning on the Saturday night dinner crowd.... More

Had a quick lunch there, ordered roast beef with salad - came quickly, fresh and was tasty. Lovely service, with a smiling and direct waitress. Reasonable pricing too. There's plenty of space around for parties and it looked like they were setting up some event. Couldn't stick around, but the place looks perfectly suited for events, being so far away... More

Best place ever! O/H found it online as a highly recommended place to have traditional German food. There are no English menus, just a warning. We ordered a tasting menu of traditional dishes. The waiter came and talked us through our dish, everything was made in-house and he even told us when and where they would eat the food traditionally.... More

We went here for lunch after a harbour boat trip, wanting to try a traditional German restaurant during our stay. It wasn't easy to find, but this may have been down to our map reading skills. We hadn't booked but were lucky to get a table as many were reserved. Unfortunately we were told there was no English menu so... More
