Tucked back in a little niche off Mittleweg in the Rothenbaum district is this gem of an Italian restaurant. All the dishes we tried were uniformly excellent, and there is a great variety complimented by wonderful wines and other beverages. Everyone else there must have felt pretty much the same, as the place was packed with mostly local folk. The... More

My husband and I were staying in a hotel around the corner and, by great luck, we discovered Ristorante Da Mario. This magical trattoria is a little piece of Italy hiding in Hamburg. The restaurant itself has a cozy, romantic atmosphere (candles on the table, Italian music, the whole nine yards) and the prices were affordable - but it was... More

It is a hidden Italian gem! The menu, waiters and clean tastes made me really feel like being in Italy. Loved the atmosphere. The restaurant was really packed (we visited the restaurant on Saturday evening), so I suggest to book the table ahead.

I ordered the pizza you can see on the pictures (Parma ham, arugula and parmesan). I've truly never seen such a small pizza and even the staff told me "piccolo" when he saw my face... More

It is always a pleasure to visit this restaurant in particular in summer the cosy atrium. The staff around Edison are extremely friendly and professional, you feel coming home. The food is good and you can rely on the staff recommendation. Definitely worth visiting.

My friend and i found this little and cozy restaurant by chance. I am italian and i usually tend to avoid italian restaurants abroad as they are often disappointing or serve "culturally adapted" food. But the dishes sounded very appealing and the prices were very low, considering the area, so we decided to give it a try. And we got... More

First night we walked by this small ally, and I saw Da Mario at the end - looking very "romantic" The day after we decided to try it out - and we did not regret. Da Mario is a small, very romantic and intens restaurant. Great food & Wine - and a excellent service. All to a VERY good price.... More
