Very bad experience. Though I am not Japanese, I travel to Japan almost every month and been to so many places and enjoy a lot of Japanese food locally. Yabase is no doubt the worst experience I have ever met for a Japanese owned restaurant. Food is just so-so but expensive.(maybe German living standard is much higher than Japanese) Place... More

I did not know that Düsseldorf is home to more Japanese than any other city in Europe. This must explain why Yabase exists. Our friend suggested he meet there for dinner and my low expectations from the glaring lighting, packed tables and cafeteria style furniture were quickly overturned when the food started to arrive... The sushi was some of the... More

Over the past ten years, whenever we came to Dusseldorf, we eat at Yabase, and it is always the best sushi. Order toro and you won't be cheated by chotoro served in Nobu.

Even though we made a reservation we had to wait to get seated. Then when they seated us it was not what we asked for. Then the food came 50 mins late. Then to boot when we were still eating the server came with the bill and asked us to pay in the middle of our meal. Have to say... More

We had to wait for an hour to get our first course of sashimi and it was already late, so therefore just before serving the dish they told us the kitchen was closing so if we wanted more we had to order right away. This was nog very friendly. Furthermore it was very expensive, and not really worth the money.

Even on the weekend they have lunch specials that is worth your money! We went around 2PM on Saturday, but still waited for 15 mins to get seated. It might be better to call ahead if you are more than two people. My tuna-don was amazing and my friends' set menu was great too! Authentic Japanese food!

Yabase is our favorite when it comes to tuna sushi! No big space, no luxury surround but … an excellent tuna sushi plate and eel specialities. Be sure to reserve a table. Many Japanese-Dusseldorf citizens know and appreciate the place.

Tables are all next to each other. You can hardly talk to each other with noisy around. Fish is fresh but rice is not good at all. Sake is good. Some other Japanese restaurants in town are much better than this one.

Very good sushi, delicious sashimi offered. Quite crowded, maybe the reason why the staff was quite unfriendly.

If you visit dusseldorf and you like sushi than you must visit Yabase. I've visit this restaurant multiple times and the food is consistently good. Don't forget to order the toro sushi which melts in your mouth!
