The entries were ok (sushi) but just...measured. The main dish was very nice and served along the cooking show. The dinner itself lasted 3 hours approx...it was ok since we were among colleagues but... The final surprise was the bill, honestly very far to be fair but, luckly it was not my duty that time...

I have been in Dusseldorf while visiting the boat show and remembered we have been in Nikko hotel and have a good sushi dinner with friends a few years back . I reserve in the morning and when we come there they mixed my reservation and it was already looking they didn't have any more space . I ordered a... More

Staff is very friendly. Waitresses were dressed traditionally but overall overpriced and low quality food. We had the Benkay teppanyaki menu which is the one with the Wagyu beef but were somewhat disappointed considering the €140 price tag per person. We think the quality of the meat was below average. Our 140 gram Wagyu steak was chewy and far from... More

I went to Benkay end of November when I was in Dusseldorf for an exhibition and was looking for a Japanese restaurant. It was a good overall experience even if the menu was a bit small; on the other side, the service was very good

Excellent menu and cooking / culinary experience, in the Japanese style and tradition. Perfectly designed and executed menu on the cooking table, wonderfull combination of fish and vegetables. A very good restaurant, despite slightly less excellent that the same named Benkay of Paris Nikko's hotel near Eiffel tower. As well relatively expensive, but this is the standard for this high... Sadly the restaurant is existing on its previous reputation. During a return visit to Dusseldorf last week my husband and I went for lunch expecting the standard of food and service we had always received in the past. Every item of food served was sub standard. There was nothing fresh about anything we were given. The fish was stale and... More

I have strong opinions about Benkay. Some of them good and some bad, which I will summarize below: The Good - The sushi was great and the chef seemed like a real professional. It was the best unagi (eel) I’ve ever had. - Main courses were quite good—tempura and noodle soup in our case - They offered an unusual sparkling... More

salmon dish did not taste fresh at all, it tasted like it was cooked from frozen. The sushi looked like it was made by an amateur and also tasted a day old. I can't understand the good reviews, I've had better meals at japanese takeaways

Enjoy finest sushi, exclusively prepared by our Japanese cooks. Our Fish Corner and Sushi Bar serves fresh Maki, Nigiri, Sashimi and Tempura but also Kaiseki (many-course) menus, which introduce our guests to the extraordinary traditional Japanese cuisine and widen their culinary senses. You may either sit in our classic restaurant or take a time-out to recuperate in our traditional Tatami rooms. Relax in your private corner and enjoy the culinary art of our cooks - sitting on Tatami straw mats.

You might also like to experience the traditional Japanese barbecue! The Japanese cooks - with Masashi Nonaka as Head Chef - prepare delicious menus on the only "iron plates" in Duesseldorf right in front of your eyes.
