Stumbled on this place as we were staying at the Hilton. Had a few drinks from extensive bar and ended up ordering bruschetta and lamb skewers after seeing the way they' were bought out to another table - cleverly hanging from a wire rack. Served with choice of gourmet sauces and potato or salad options. Looks like it gets busy... More

Located just a short walk from the cathedral's marketplace, Cubo Negro is an upscale restaurant that offered consistently high quality food.

The more international than mediterranean resraurant Cubo Negro can be found close to the very atmospheric ruin of St Christof's church in the old town of Mainz. And atmospheric is this restaurant, too. It seems ideal if you prefer a quiet surrounding that allows you to have a good chat while enjoying good food. The selection of wines is not... More

Just 100 meters away from the Hilton hotel and city center in a nice quiet square. A very nice bar-restaurant with good atmosphere and good food.

I went with colleagues and we had a selection of items; Premium Burger for one colleague, African Poultry skewer for another, and I had the Salmon Burger myself. The Salmon Burger was cooked to perfection without the Salmon being over-cooked. The same goes for the Premium Burger according to my colleague. However, the African Skewer was not a hit with... Quite busy for a Wednesday night in Feb. Menu in English as well as German obviously. Lot of burgers and other casual food. Good selection of starters. Reasonably priced. Would return.

It's pretty average. I give it two stars as I probably won't go here again, it's quite expensive relative to other places. The food was pretty average. The service is not good at all, the night I went was busy so I can understand somewhat, however we waited to be served constantly with the waiter missing people's drink orders and... More

I've attended this restaurant 3 times now in the past two weeks and have consistently enjoyed a great meal! Their salads are great for a light meal (not easy to get in Germany), the rump steak was cooked to perfection (med-rare!) and came with an outstanding sweet-potatoe au-gratin side as well as a mediterranean vegetable side, and the prawn/salmon skewer... Cubo Negro is a delightful triple threat, an interconnected creamery, bar, and formal dining room all fronted by an outdoor patio dining area facing a small park. Food caught my eye over two beer stops between hotel and Marktplatz, starting with an unusual hamburger – nice twist on a US staple. Having endured decades of Spätzle and salads made of... More
