The Palais Bistro belongs to the Taschenbergpalais Hotel Kempinski and is accessible both through the hotel and via its own entrance at the small Taschenberg square. The atmosphere in the bistro is very lively, the staff is friendly and attentive. This place fills up easily with hotel guests and non residential as it is not that big. There is not... More

Indeed there is a strange lampstand in the Bistro which looks just like Lady Gaga(!) However, the food and drink are of real interest and the fact it says that it is a French Bistro does not mean you can't get great German food as well! It is part of the Hotel Taschenberg so you can charge to your room... More

This is in the Kempinski hotel, where I was, staying, but it also has easy access from the surrounding area. I had lunch, well served and with full menu choices. Cleverly one picks the main course in parts...entre and accompanying vegetable or potato. Generous portions. I returned for a early supper another day to be thwarted by a unwelcoming waitress, for... We dined here three times. On each occasion the fish (red mullet and bream) were excellent - well prepared, beautifully served and a delight. I had the excellent German meatballs one night. The deserts are very good and do try the artesan ice cream - I recommend the walnut and pistachio. The only slight disappointment was the veggie crepes which... More

This French restaurant is part of the hotel but is a cut above the usual hotel food. I had the coq au vin and some mashed potatoes on the side to mop up the sauce and was not disappointed. The chicken was moist, not dried out like most restaurants I have been to on this trip. The staff were very... More

The coq au vin was cooked very well, with an intense sauce and some lovely mushrooms. The service was excellent, well trained, attentive staff. The decor of the restaurant is very welcoming, stylish and classy. All in all, a nice place for dinner on a Saturday night.

I'm glad we looked at Yelp reviews before going. The recommendations were spot on for: german meatballs, coq au vin (divine), creme brule, caesar salad, potato/sausage soup. The decor is whimsical, colorful--lovely setting. Despite the beautiful weather, we ate inside and had the place to ourselves. The relentless presence of cigarette smoke in restaurants here (patios) is unappetizing to me.... More

This place has the best coq au vine I have ever tasted sofar. You have to try it if you would have a chance to get there! The price is about 20 EUR for a big portion. I do highly recommend to have it with the mash potatoes or home fries. Enjoy

The restaurant in the beatiful surroudings of the hotel Bülow Palais. The staff is willing and friendly, but the food is barely average. Gazpacho and carpaccio are unusual atypical flavor. Wiener Schnitzel is OK, but baby food fish nuggets on cucumber salad is completely sucked. Menu options does not make good choices If you want to eat in the nice... More

Walking around in Dresdner’s Altstadt during a warm Sunday evening I noticed the terrace of Palais Bistro at a quiet square. The veal schnitzel I had was simple but good. Service was friendly and helpful but a little slow. Nevertheless I had a tasty meal with “Schnapps” as an aperitif and cold German beer.
