This so called attraction restaurant was recommended by our hotel and since we have two evenings in Dresden we decided to give it a go. I would not recommend it given that Dresden has so much more to offer. If you want some typical german food, better go to Augustiner or Altmark Keller. The food was worse than mediocre and... More

Good hearty food -good hearty athmosphere. Sometimes entertainers walking through the restaurant. Perhaps a bit touristy. But everything is OK. It certainly is no waste of time to go there

Quirky place with lots of fun touches in historic area of Dresden. They were able to handle food allergy without any problem.

I asked my hotel concierge for a reasonably priced local restaurant. There is certainly a sense of arrival, cannon, staff in fancy dress 1700 style, umpah music etc...the welcome from the host was as unwelcoming as could be....perhaps because I was not part of a coach load. Still I got a table and the food was okay the beer great... More

We could have dinner outside on the terrace and it was lovely. Food is typical from this part of Germany and the staff is really dedicated. Prices are ok and not to expensive for this kind of restaurant. It was a great evening, don't hesitate to go there.

This is part a traditional food restaurant, and part a theme restaurant. The food is well presented and covers many local dishes. There is also he aspect of this restaurant in that the wait staff are dressed in traditional costume, and I had a musician alongside me playing for some of ge evening. So this restaurant is great for a... More

Welcome to the Gunpowder Tower! Originally built in 1565, the tower formed an important part of Dresden's fortifications, and, as its name suggests, was used to store gunpowder safely in the ground - it was a pretty explosive place back then! You will find the restaurant in the historical centre of dresden in the vaultet ceilings of the "Coselpalais" next to "Frauenkirche". The Pulverturm with a total of 400 seats is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. As you dine beneath the vaulted ceilings of the Marshal de Saxe Room, or the Russian or Turkish vault, you will experience a part of the history of Saxony while enjoying a truly royal saxon dining experience. Of course, your table will have a sumptious basket of oven-fresh breads from the Arsenal Bakery, just a few yards away. This is also where the court patissier creates sweet delicacies for dessert. Perhaps Milord and Milady would fancy a juicy suckling pig or other rustic dishes prepared before your eyes in our open-air kitchen, along with your choice of ice-cold german beer or delicious local wines. You may even be tempted to buy some plunder from the strolling sutler! The "Condemned Man's Last Meal" served in the dungeon, of course, is an unforgettable experience. Our lovely maidens and brave grenadiers will serve you delicacies. Throughout the evening, strolling magicians will ensure nonstop merriment and diversion. Last but not least you should not miss out on the famous funnel drinking, called "Dresdner Trichtertrinken".
