The service was fast and friendly. My girlfriend had asparagus with schnitzel and roast potatoes (bratkartoffeln) instead of parsley potatoes and I had beef roulade filled with back bacon and mustard, red cabbage as side dish and home made potatoe dumplings. Both dishes were very tasty and the amount was okay as was the price.

We stopped in this restaurant in town hall for a beverage and some brats. Unfortunately, we were surprised that they did not serve any German Brats because they were too common. We had some of their locally produced dry wine and a pilsner as well. Their current special is a plum pastry which was tasty and I would get again... More

After visiting the porcelain factory, this was our place for lunch. There were lots of people there, but we got fast and friendly service. I had a nice beer and my wife had tea. She had wurzfleish ( chicken ragout ) and I had sauerbraten. Her's was the best. Nice.

After our visit to the famous Meissen Porcelain factory we ended up in downtown Meissen at the Elbe River. Again a very traditional decorated restaurant with efficient service. Very much enjoyed the Forelle Mullerin (trout) with an excellent Grauburgunder from the Schloss Proschwitz Prinz zur Lippe wine estate.

We were on a sentimental tour in Meissen. Our last visit (4) dated form the late 70s and early 80s. It was amazing to see how Meisen was upgraded. No smell of lignite, no air pollution and a high quality of town-restoration. We visited "der Ratskeller" with a group of international friends. We were seated on the outside terrace. Some... More

Visited this restaurant whilst staying in the beautiful town of Miessen. The beer is delicious but I can't really say that for the food. I suppose it was plentiful but my wife's meal and mine could have been warmer and it wasn't that cheap. The Australian waitress was excellent although the evening was overshadowed by the fact that a nearby... More

Stopped at this delightful Café for afternoon Kaffee & Kuchen and we were not disappointed. Swift friendly service with outdoor seating by the Square so we could watch the world go by.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Ratskeller last night. The main reason for my review is the wonderful service offered by Sven. He spoke English (I know we should speak more German!) Sven offered a confident and appreciated recommendation of a local wine to match the food we ordered. He was attentive and helpful. The dishes were a very generous... More

We went here on a recommendation of a local person. It was good but to write home about. I believe that in "real" German restaurant you never get a bad food. This doesn't apply to fake Italian pizzerias and Asian establishments. The beef soup was very good as well as Sauerbraten with dumplings. Service lacked enthusiasm.
