Oikea, perinteinen gasthaus vanhan Hallen sydämessä. Loistava ruoka ja ystävällinen palvelu. Menen toisenkin kerran. Real traditional gasthaus in the heart of the old Halle. Very good food ja friendly service. I'll be back there.

We were in Halle for two days and found this place through the Trip Advisor app. We were not disappointed! It was nice to see that - according to the newspaper clippings on the bulletin board at the entrance - Gorbachev had visited the restaurant. We were a group of eight, but they found a place to put us. The... More

Had dinner with the family at the Zum Schad, we liked the place from the start, as we saw the nice beer garden with lots of guests. Also the interior is interesting. So is the menu, including the restaurant's own beer which is very tasty indeed. The service was friendly and professional. We'd love to come back to the Schad!

Came here for a glass of beer and not disappointed! Also ordered a burger and a bowl of potato wedges. They are amazing! Very generous portion and tasty. Just a little bit pricey, but overall it was worth it.

The beers and foods in Gasthaus Zum Schad is, as very often in Germany, served in big glasses and portions. The food is tasty, I highly recommend the bratwurst with sauerkrout!

I had dinner to finish the asparagus season on the terrace of the Gasthaus. The asparagus was served with ham and cooked potatoes. In addition, I ordered a glass of Dornfelder red wine from the Saale-Unstrut region which was not exactly fitting, but that was my mistake. The service was ok and the food average. My view from the terrace... More

I have no idea of the interior of this restaurant because we stayed on the patio which is streetside but quite quiet. The menu is full of central German staples. Therefore do no expect fine dining. As a specialty they have horsemeat - and if you are not familiar to, this is no dish of the poor but one of... More

A really traditional Halle institution. The food is hearty but my Scweinhaxe was pretty dry and had no crackling. Good beer brewed on site. Good enough but not the best German restaurant in Halle so 3 stars from me.

The dishes got smaller, the meat got tougher, fried potatoes are a bit too burned. The service is still good, but I would not recommend this place for a visit.

Service is probably the best in Halle. The food is a mix on continental Europe and local. Wine list is sufficient. Would recommend 100%
