We found the food very good particularly the mussels. The staff are very friendly and our evenings were most enjoyable. Worth a visit.

Upon arrival in almeria, we had an early afternoon bite on the terrace of la encina, pleasant moment, quick service, excellent tapas > try the house speciality Croquetas ! As well as the Patatas a lo pobre! And the Calamares fritos were of course very fresh ! We didn t try the interior of the Encina, which looked very typical... More

My lovely wife and I were staying nearby so decided to call into La Encina for dinner after reading the many good reviews on this esteemed site. How disappointed we were! Service was slow and borderline rude. At times it felt like the waiter was deliberately ignoring my desperate attempts to get his attention. Perhaps my faltering attempts at Spanish... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal for two with great service (despite my poor attempts at speaking Spanish), great food and good prices. Would definitely go again and would recommend.

Again this was May. I am finding it hard remembering all the places we have visited. Not sure if I am going to do any more. We asked for a selection and boy did we get that. From fish to meat, chicken and potatoes. All tasty and fresh. Great service and gold price.

During my vacation in Spain i visited several restaurants and tapas bar suggested by tripadvisor, and the only time so far that i have been dissapointed was when visiting La Encina in Almeria. I came there for a dinner with my girlfirend. We sat outside on the terrace. First thing i noticed wrong was lack of waiters. There were far... More

Stumbled across this place purely by chance and we were pleasantly surprised. We were lured in by the Menu del Dia which was only 10 or 12 EUR depending if you wanted salad or not. I opted for the salad and the moment it arrived and I tasted it I knew the food would be good, fresh ingredients, well prepared.... More

we had lunch here, it is a great bar and the tapas was exceptional. The Raf tomatoes in virgin oil was the highlight for me as well as the Berenjenas (aubergines) with goats cheese and dates. Good wine list too. Well worth a visit,

Came across this pleasant establishment by chance, and were very pleased to see it highly rated by other members of the Tripadvisor community! We had the 10 Euro lunchtime menu which consisted of a choice of very ample starters, main course, pudding and drink. We all had a glass of wine which was very pleasant and great value. Very helpful... More

Surrealist conversation: 'Hello, we'd have one small beer and little bottle of Mineral water' 'OK which tapas would you have?' 'Actually we aren't hungry, only drinks are fine' 'well that's your call' 'How much is it?' 'five euros' 'five?,small beer it's worth 1.20 euro and mineral the same every where in Spain?' ' yes but you pay for the tapas'... More
