At Los Diamantes restaurant on Plaza Nueva we joined other diners at long tables and placed our order with the waiter. It was mid-afternoon, and the restaurant was closing for lunch soon. Some of the dishes we wanted to try were sold out so we agreed to a racione of mixed fried seafood that included fish, shrimp, and squid (18 Euros). It was good but nothing special. Perhaps we would have been more satisfied with our meal had we arrived earlier.

Ate there twice. The shellfish is very good and they know how to fry... However, the second night, when I tried to order shrimp pil pil, the waiter pushed "shrimp pancakes" which were not on the menu (half portion, 10 Euro). This was obviously a ploy to push something to tourists with a much higher profit margin. They were salty and heavy and contained very little shrimp. Mostly batter.
Lesson learned... wouldn't eat there again.

We had superb tapas in Barcelona bars and expected same in Granada. Not so. Eventually found Los Diamantes. You can buy a small (not measured!) beer and receive a tapas too - no choice. You can order other dishes too, fast service, mostly fishy, seemed good and fresh, made to order, popular, good fun atmosphere. Small busy bar.

- good tapas, but too many deep fried tapas on the menu
- average service
- very good octupus 'a la gallega'
The restaurant is good, but unfortunately the day before was christmas, so there wasn't much option in the menu.
There are too many options that are deep fried and don't fall into the mistake of ordering too many of these plates.
Order the octupus 'a la gallega' if you like it because it is totally worth it.
The service was average, but fast, and the ambience was poor, because there were too many people and too much noise.
The value was also poor and the food was overpriced. However, they offered us an appetizer of clams that was very good.
Overall, it wasn't too bad or too good. It is good for a last resource restaurant, but if you have time to prepare, choose another one.

Great seafood. Super crowded and didn’t know how the shared seating worked . But there is a sign saying you need to be seated by staff. So we ordered some wine at the bar before we were seated. They gave us a platter of fried fish chunks immediately with our wine order. delicious!!! So if you order alcohol, they give you healthy portions of free tapas. Everything we ordered was delicious! We did pass by the restaurant at 3:30pm and it wasn’t crazy like when she went around 1:00. Definitely worth the wait.

Great atmosphere obviously very popular with the locals. Not surprised as the tapas was very generous and the mains very tasty. We had sauteed artichokes with shrimps which was absolutely gorgeous. Even though they were extremely busy we didn't feel at all rushed and the service was exellent!

Amazing tapas bar. The portions are bigger in los manueles but in here for 2.5-3 euros you get amazing sea food. In my three visits I got as free tapas:
calamari (always crunchy and small, not the bad chewy ones) this is the most common one
Mixed fried seafood (this was the meat good one as it was rather small)
Mussels (just steamed)
Seafood paella (delicious)
I also ordered the half order of clams which were amazing. On my first time there was a line but honestly it moved quickly and even if you end up in the bar they will move you to a table if you ask and one becomes available. Amazing food!

Good priced beer and tintos de verano (wine with sprite over ice), making it a great value if you're drinking. But the real reason to go is the food, which is delicious, and the calamar starter they bring you for free with your drinks is a great touch. The atmosphere is awesome, feels very Spanish, and the clientele is mostly Spanish tourists with plenty of foreign tourists as well. The environment is very fast paced, but the staff is friendly, helpful, bilingual and patient. It ended up being one of the higher bills we paid for food in Andalucia, but still a great value and a lovely experience. Thank you to all the workers at Los Diamantes!

Very very good indeed. Not so much of a traditional tapas bar in style, but the service is outstanding and the food great. Free tapas which came with drinks included fried mixed fish, seafood paella, and clams. We also ordered separately the fried artichokes, padron peppers, and razor clams (this was over two separate visits - two half dishes would be enough to feed two unless famished). Drinks are great and the price is decent value, especially given the location (we found it a bit cheaper in general as you go outside the centre). The whole experience was made by a combination of the quality of the staff and the quality and freshness of their seafood. Also the place was constantly crammed with locals, which is a testament to the quality on offer - it's not like there aren't a hundred alternatives if somewhere is no good. We'd definitely return.

I took a dinner here. Although there are only the 20.00 it was full. Many items (i.e. tuna) of menu was missing, so I orderere as third choice mixed fishh fried. The generous portion let you dinner with the little one dish. The fish was really fresh (shrimps, anchovies, calamari, bacalaos) and the breading dried.
Problems: if you like a dark beer you have to learn how to say dark beer in spanish, no salad is avalailable with the fish: only bread and tomatores or fried vegetables.
I spent 21 € for 2 beers with a shrimp tapas plus the main course of mixed fried fish. The next evening at 21 pm there was a long queue and I had to change place, although I would like to investigate more. It is a typical place for spanish people always full and not for tourist. You have to know that it exists.

This is a fast turnover bar with a wide ranging choice of fresh seafood tapas. It is standup with high tables. You need to choose your time carefully to avoid queues as there is a no reservation policy
It is very busy buzzy and energetic and it is perfect spot of you wish to enjoy such high quality if you are time restrained.
As a result the service is a little chaotic button I commend Naomi for her professionalism engagement and efficiency

We had the best time at Los Diamantés! It was packed, so we had to wait a while to get in. When we did, we sat at the bar which was great. The servers were attentive and polite even though it was clear they were incredibly busy. We ordered calamari and wines, and they brought out clams. At first, I thought they just made a mistake, but the clams were a free tapas because of the wine we ordered. They were delicious, way better than the calamari! We were there for quite some time and enjoyed some wine and a variety of tapas including the clams and calamari, mussels (delicious!), silver fish (I did not care for these), and more. Everything was amazing, and it was very inexpensive considering all the food we ate! We loved trying so many new things! There was an energetic, lively vibe here which we just loved. I would highly recommend enjoying the tapas and atmosphere here while in Granada!

If you like fish, this a must place to eat. One of the better restaurants around the Plaza Nueva. The food is well prepared, tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. The servers friendly and the tapas excellent. We ate there several days and were very happy. Can get very crowded around 8 PM. Highly recommended!

The first "diamond"( they have another location) is a gem. But First, visitors should be warned that this place is different: you sit at communal type tables, like at the Octoberfest. The servers are running by, they don't have time for long conversations. And try to use Some Spanish. (Though we did see one waitress who spoke English.)
The small anchovies are not salty, try them. You eat the whole thing, bones and all. The same with the smelts.
The seafood rice is also good.
If you tell the server you prefer a dry or sweet wine, she'll find it (order by glass, "cupa").
Bustling, busy, fun place. Locals also go there.
Bon appetit!
