We had walked miles and needed to stop for food and drink. Most places along the way appeared unfriendly and uninviting. Then we met the waiter at Restaurante Spala! What a great guy he had little English an we even less Spanish, he was not pushy but attentive, helped to explain the menu and the dishes. We had the Paella... More

Stopped here for lunch after exploring Maria Luisa Park. I had the menu del dia (9euros) ... chose paella for first course, a big plate with a lot of seafood and good saffrony taste, moist the way they cook it in Seville. For the main course I had merluza con veduras which turned out to be a nice thick piece... More

Spanish omelet / Tortilla de patatas in Seville what can go wrong? Apparently lots. In first serving eggs was raw. When dish return to the kitchen it was cooked further and arrived back without salad ( 4 thin slices of tomatoes) which was originally served with! No apologies from the staff. Dish was tasteless. I wasn't been able to eat... More

At our waiter's suggestion, I had the leg of lamb and it was perhaps the tastiest dish I had in our travels in Spain. The lamb was done to perfection. It was succulent, flavorful, moist with enough meat on the bone to satisfy even a carnivore like myself.

Jamon tostada, coffee & fresh orange juice for three Euros. Can't complain. Nice view of the university.

When is a 'lasana' not a lasana'? When it's from Spala San Fernando. An unfunny joke matched only by the completely laughable food and service here. After a long wait, what was billed as an aubergine lasagna transpired to be a pile of half-cold ham and mince with a strip of aubergine hidden underneath an inexplicably sugary sauce. The time... Do not stop to eat here whatever you do! To be honest we should've just walked off and left before the inedible food took 40 minutes to arrive...the slimy waiter greeted us by saying my friends and I were all "muy guapas". That could've be fine, but not from this guy. Then when I was deciding which tapas to order,... More

Thirsty and hungry after exploring Plaza de Espana, we were faced first with an argument for tap water with an inhospitable waiter, next an incomplete tapas menu with dishes unavailable, followed by a 30 minute wait for the waiter to emerge to clarify our order - a further 10 until mediocre potatas bravas and inedible paella arrived. Needless to say... More

We were in a rush to find something so went in this unpretentious cafe just wanting a quick feed. We ordered chicken with carbonara sauce and oxtail, both of which were really enjoyable. This was our last night in Seville. A shame as we would have returned. Was really good.

While millionaires don't eat caviar and drink champagne everyday, Spala San Fernando is near the Plaza de Espana to make a good lunch stop. One of chose back home spaghetti and I had the treat of langoustine prawns. Even though you have peel off the skins, it is worth the trouble to enjoy their subtle flavor. How wrong can any... More
