San Sebastián has many highly rated restaurants at which you can have amazing meals at insane expense. The tasting menu at Bogedon Alejandro with wine pairing was creative, delicious, and very reasonable. The anchovy lasagna was brilliant: fresh, subtle & yet complex, & I am...More

Going from bar to bar for the pinchos in San Seb is so m much fun and so cheap that it can seem daft to go to a restaurant. Still, a wedding anniversary meant that we pushed the boat out a bit for something a...More

We spent our last evening in San Sebastián at Bodegon Alejandro and opted for the tasting menu and combination wine. Having wasted an evening (and money) at Akelarre on our last tasting menu, we were thankful to end the trip on a high as the...More

We enjoyed our dining experience. It was a mixed bag however. The starter peppers were delicious. The tomato salad was to die for. My beef dish was average. The hake was excellent. The peach dessert was very weak. The service was excellent. Decent wine list.

Perfectly cooked Apple pie on a thin flaky pastry bottom, topped off with what was remarkable rosemary-flavoured cream and ice cream which made the pairing delightful Also totally worth trying the chocolate biscuits that came with our coffee--salted chocolate biscuits which were heavenly

Really great meal. We did not do the tasting menu because there was a beef dish, which I don't eat. We started with the fried peppers which were delicious, and then the tomato salad that were the best tomatoes I have ever tasted. I had...More

First visit to San Sebastian and found this delightful restaurant by accident. A gem of a place, amongst numerous crowded and noisy tapas bars. So good, we returned on our second day and had an equally enjoyable experience. Delicious food, wine, bread and little extras;...More

I have no idea if they have gluten free options but there is no particular dress code. Restaurants in San Sebastián tend to be mainly informal (no jeans with holes, though).

This depends on where you are staying. We stayed opposite the beach overlooking La Perla. We did not need a car and really Donnista - San Sebastian is not that big that you need a car to travel around. We walked everywhere... More
