Waited for almost 10 minutes to get a table! Not a big space but service is very friendly.. Some special local foods like oxtail you have to try!

This is one of those places we learned about when we asked our hotel staff (Hotel Santa Isabel) to recommend a good, not-expensive place that served local cuisine, perhaps as tapas. We went first, in fact, to have drinks, after which we expected to go elsewhere for dinner. We enjoyed it so much, we stayed. And we went back the... More

For sure , should be better to eat , not in the week end ,for late in service by unhelpful waiters. A lot of dishes , incuding several regional specialities are satisfactory includind a good range of beers. Price little bit expensive considering food and service level.

Waiter decided to give himself an almost 50% tip by shortchanging me €5 on an €11 bill when I paid cash. If I tried to be politically correct I'd say he "probably made a mistake", but I actually believe that he tried to steal on purpose as he was clearly ashamed and agreed immediately to change the amount on the... I read a bunch of excellent reviews so we made a dinner reservation. It was really good, but not a "wow" experience. The cave setting was a cool feature. We ordered a very nice bottle of young tempranillo (only 13 euro), 2 bottles water, bread, pickled tuna salad, steak tartare with arugula, venison filets in mushrooms sauce, duck confit ravioli,... Ordered the set regional tapas menu. The partridge salad tasted like the filling from a sweet chilli chicken wrap, the cod was overdone and chewy. Finally the desert on the set menu was a marzipan sponge cake and chocolate truffle as well as another dish. Instead we were offered either coffee flan or ice cream. The coffee flan was grey... It was one day trip to Toledo from Madrid. We haven't enough time to eat in the morning. That's why the first thing we do there was the breakfast. It was an offer for breakfast: coffee + sandwich + fresh squeezed juice only for 2,60€. We ate 4 breakfasts!! Highly recommended! Very tasty and fresh.

We were fortunate enough to visit Toledo, Spain and were advised by the information bureau to have lunch at La Abadia and we are so glad we did.
