We went after reading the Trip advisor reviews but our experience was not a good one. The menu is very confusing making you order without understanding really what are you going to eat. The first "tapas" arrived to the table and the drinks were not even near, after 3 times of asking about a fresh sangria finally arrived but warm.... More

Food decent but service not very good. On the pricey side. Our change came very late giving us the impression that they were expecting us to give them the change as tips

Called in on spec while looking for Magic Fountain. Cracking welcome, menu well presented and explained where required. The food was really good to excellent. Quail thighs were to die for, some Tapas I'd never seen as well. Everything that came to our table was tasty and well presented. Good value. In this neck of the woods, give it a... More

Excellent tapas experience - we all fell in love with food, The waiters were helpfully telling us about the different tapas and the local specialties. The restaurant had nice atmosphere and also majority of dinners were locals which is a good sign of quality.

Everything was done right. Plus they worked on a concept which makes this restaurant different. From the menu design (reminded me of a smartphone game named "Dump ways to die"), to the layout of the venue, and the outfit of the waiters. The food was very good. You can find the classic you like, a little world food twist for... More

Ok so the place does look very kid friendly, but don't mind that. The staff is super friendly and speak English. First we ordered sangria that was delicious! It has a cinnamon taste that rocked! For food we the tomato bread thing that didn't knock my socks off. Didn't have much flavor. We also got garlic shrimp that was great... More

WOW!!! What an amazing restaurant with superb food! Don't let the strange childlike menu and decor put you off , the food is outstanding. We had Ox cheek , Ribs , Patatas bravas, salad and tomato bread. The meat was just melt in the mouth and full of flavour. Try it ......... you won't be disappointed!

Casa de Tapas Canota is a very authentic Catalan restaurant. Service is good and friendly with quite an extensive Tapas menu to choose from. There is fun and lively atmosphere with lots of mainly locals. There is a good wine list which was reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the Croquettes, pork shoulder with vegetables and chicken wings.

A delightful surprise. This restaurant was colorful, fun, friendly and tasty. The tomato and mozarella salad mixed fresh at the table was especially delightful.

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
