Over the course of a seven day visit to Barcelona we, of course, had opportunity to taste a multitude of breads at various restaurants. The best bread we encountered? Well, despite having two Michelin Star experiences in the mix, when it came to bread, it always came back to the pan of El Fornet. The texture and mouthfeel are superb,... More

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! After our visit we were smitten with the delicious pastries in this shop. So much so that we revisited several additional times. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in regards to our nut allergy in the family. Highly recommended.

My Hotel was nearby and everyday its a must to have either sandwich, bread or some pastries and coffee out there. Cheap prices, warm welcome by the staff who worked in Carre Fontanella. Every time I walked past this place the pastries were calling to me from the window. I adore palmiers and they had little ones, big ones, some were covered in chocolate, it was cruel! I made a total of 3 stops in my 5 days in Barcelona. They also were very reasonably priced. Very glad we don't have this place... More

El Fornet was across from our hotel (among several other locations around our neighborhood). Great spot for breakfast for us--amazing espresso, superlative baked goods, freshly squeezed orange juice. The chocolate croissants were even better than those in Paris. Sandwiches are phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Stumbled on this cafe with Niece Susan while looking for a place to have an early dinner. There was no menu but staff verbally gave many choices of salads and pasta, each one freshly prepared. Niece Susan chose a salad with chicken, I chose pasta carbonara. Both were excellent. With a fresh squeezed glass of orange juice for her and... More
