So good - the best squid croquettes - melty in the mouth ! On a rainy dreary day we needed a late lunch and the hotel recommended this place around the corner and it was very quiet inside and I didn't expect much. However everything...More

We came here first with a tour group, and enjoyed it so much that we returned on our own. The patatas braves, tortilla, croquettas, were all great. The grilled octopus and ventresca bonita were exceptional.

Description
With its 80 years, La Palma is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic locals of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona. Opened in 1935 as a grocery store, it has been an improvised theater stage and a meeting place for artists, painters and poets of the recent history of Barcelona. In 1987, the business became " La Bodega de la Señora Maria" and adapted to the new times, including for the first time a coffee machine and a variety of homemade omelettes, without neglecting its tradition: the barrel wine. The last change was in 2005 , when the new owners expanded the menu to convert the celler into what it is today: a place that perfectly combines traditional Catalan cuisine with a wide and varied menu of wines and champagnes . Enjoy it!
