It's not the best wine bar I've been to in Barcelona but it rates pretty well. Waiter was really helpful on appropriate wines and they were reasonably priced. I took a variety of croquettes, and they were amazing (how can peas be so lovely?). The...More

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of the Barri Gotic, not too far from Placa de Sant Jaume. It takes a bit of finding but it's well worth it. The setting is very traditional and the service was friendly and professional. I...More

We called in from our cruise and we were so pleased that we did. The heat outside was unbearable the welcome inside warm and friendly. The food outstanding. Six generous tapas and 4 beers for 30e. Russian salad was a delight, ham croquettes to die...More

We had a lovely meal at this little restaurant. Everything was delicious, and prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is a bit hard to find, so be sure to check your map carefully before heading there!

This place is like going to a nostalgic catalan bodega, traditional places to have wines from barrels. It's so authentic the atmosphere, we love going there. And the food is amazing. Every ingredient selection is picked very carefully, so the food is always fresh, with...More

Visiting in late June, we tried to find authentic (not touristy) food and wine. This fitted the bill. We shared a salad, bread & 2 mains with a bottle of rose for around 45€. Brilliant value.

Such a delight to stumble upon this small eaterie which has been family run for over 80 years. Our hostess suggested an excellent local red wine to accompany the salted tuna starter we had ordered and suggested we also try the croquettes, a particular speciality....More

Description
With its 80 years, La Palma is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic locals of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona. Opened in 1935 as a grocery store, it has been an improvised theater stage and a meeting place for artists, painters and poets of the recent history of Barcelona. In 1987, the business became " La Bodega de la Señora Maria" and adapted to the new times, including for the first time a coffee machine and a variety of homemade omelettes, without neglecting its tradition: the barrel wine. The last change was in 2005 , when the new owners expanded the menu to convert the celler into what it is today: a place that perfectly combines traditional Catalan cuisine with a wide and varied menu of wines and champagnes . Enjoy it!
