this is a real find. just stumbled across it and it was all I hoped it to be. The best food last trip to Barcelona and this one swell and I tried some high brow michelin places. It is absolutely delicious.A small selection but still something for everyone, and again, the squid croquettes are perfect!

I've been here with friends, we had good cheeses and cod fish croquet. Good local beer, unfortunately only two options but they have a good amount of wine options.

I stumbled upon this place while I was looking for somewhere. It's amazing the food is sensational ( try the squid croquettes ) the service and staff are very friendly and welcoming and the cost is very reasonable. I'll be coming back here

After doing a Taste Barcelona tour (great one to do!) Bodega La Palma was one of Paul's, the guide, recommendations to try during our stay. He was spot on - this is a really friendly place with good food, with lots of locals eating here so not a tourist trap. We wouldn't have found it by ourselves.

Great traditional Spanish restaurant in a former wine cellar. Delicious tapas selection, nice wines & beers, friendly staff who helpful offer help & advice, much appreciated by this lone diner who was at risk of ordering enough food for 2 or 3 people. Highly recommend a visit.

We spent a wonderful evening eating a choice of tapas and drinking a selection of beers and a wine chosen by the extremely helpful waitress. This bodega is tucked away in the backstreets off the Via Laietana it's definetly worth discovering. A lovely atmosphere and locals and tourists frequent.

Great little neighbourhood restaurant. Nothing flashy, just a nice place with great food, great staff and a good time. We had a few tapas and a selection of cold cuts. Had a really nice time here. Can't fault the value either, everything was very fairly priced.

Description
With its 80 years, La Palma is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic locals of the Gothic quarter in Barcelona. Opened in 1935 as a grocery store, it has been an improvised theater stage and a meeting place for artists, painters and poets of the recent history of Barcelona. In 1987, the business became " La Bodega de la Señora Maria" and adapted to the new times, including for the first time a coffee machine and a variety of homemade omelettes, without neglecting its tradition: the barrel wine. The last change was in 2005 , when the new owners expanded the menu to convert the celler into what it is today: a place that perfectly combines traditional Catalan cuisine with a wide and varied menu of wines and champagnes . Enjoy it!
