We came here as a part of our Tapas, Taverns & History of Barcelona walking food tour with Devour Barcelona. Such a wonderful, authentic, local, tiny spot! We loved learning how to drink wine from the traditional Catalonian glass vessel, a porron - kind of...More

The menu is limited to about 4 items- sardines, sausage, onion/tomato salad, and bread. If none of those appeal to you, I would suggest eating elsewhere. The menu is cheap but I wasn't blown away by any of my food, the reviews listed here gave...More

I recommend this place to anyone coming to Barcelona. I visited this small tapas bar for a light lunch. The menu was limited, but every food I ordered was very good. I particularly enjoyed fried fish, and tomato salad was so refreshing! They didn't have an...More

The place is very small and nice and the food is excellent, above all you have to try the pescaditos fritos. In my opinion they are the best pescaditos in Barcelona. The wine is also fantastic. Pepe, the barkeeper, sometimes can seem a bit cold...More

Located in a rather touristed area, this place offers only 4 Tapas and wine right from the cask. Packed mostly with locals, the rustic hole-in-the-wall atmosphere is worth a visit!

Selecting your meal is easy, as there are only a few options in this tiny tapas bar. I especially recommend the fried anchovies, try them even if you think you don't like anchovy.

This is and old and very small traditional bar with very few tables and you can't reserve but you can feel a lovely enviroment, a place which smells tradition. The menu of this bar is based on only 5 small tapas and lot of beer...More

Had an evening meal in la plata, they only do 4 options, but all were great (especially the fried fish), very fresh, very quick service. Place is small, so it was packed spilling out onto the streets, this added to the atmosphere. Well worth a...More

You think you have done "authentic" tapas until you have visited here. For weary travellers you only have a choice of four tapas, fortunately the choices represent simple food at its finest. Don't overthink it, order all four and some cheap, lovely wine from a...More

This is a small local bar, only about 5 or 6 tables- I would take a 14 year old there. It is just tapas and cold beer and wine. Delicious deep fried fish ! Usually frequented by locals and walking groups.

Description
If you are looking for an authentic tapas bar, with the same dishes (anchovies, sausage tomato salad with onions, anchovies and olives and fried sardines) than when it was founded in 1945, where you can enjoy an exceptional wine, do not hesitate. Tourists and lifelong parishioners, anonymous and famous guests (from Ferran Adria taking a break from his techno-emotional cuisine to Daniel Bruhl preparing his next film or Bono, from U2, tuning his voice); all of them looking for a place in one of the six tables of this charming restaurant in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, a reference and an institution of tapas in Barcelona.
