We were very hungry and Boquería was full of people so we found this restaurant which is very close to the Market.. there are also some tables outside. We were inside for daily menu. The true is that the interior is quite depresive, very dark, food was quite good, nothing special, average, service was nice :-)

Nearby The Rambla, turning on Carrer del Carmen, you'll find a nice and sunny square where Rita Rouge will be waiting for you. The is very nice with tables outside. The waiter is a very nice young fellow discrete and profesional. With been here just for a beer and some tapas, talking and reading in peace. Amazing!

I've eaten here a couple of times, the first of which was a good experience, food was tasty albeit the portions are small. Drinks are a little on the high side for Barcelona. Service is what I would call just okay. On the second visit, I had chicken which was undercooked, when I told the waiter, the response I received... More

Situated along one of the roads where tapas restaurants are good and plentiful, this bar has a good atmosphere. There are seating areas which are more like a lounge than a bar and you can enjoy tapas or other snacks with your drinks. Casual but with attentive service and fairly modest prices.

We started with a sangria, it was good. Ordered a melange of mixed type foods. There was chicken tandoori masala, which was passable, and came with rice. The kids shared the fajitas pollo, loved it, and managed to run around the park beside safely under our gaze as we sipped our sangria. Also ordered bacalao, a fish that was very... More

Just at the back of the famous Boqueria food market, Rita Rouge is a nice mix of bar/lounge/restaurant. It's a great place to meet friends for a beer or a cocktail. The menu is a contemporary blend of international styles and flavours, but they also serve some spanish tapas. Price/quality is good. Try the tandori chicken and their creme catalana.

Try the Tuna Tatar and the iberico Risotto. Portions are quite small, had the cod and fajitas as Main dish and Both were very small.

The service is merely unacceptable. The kind of dialog you can get on the terrace. To drink or to eat? Me: I m gonna take a drink please. Waiter:Ok. Waiter, ("encargado") one minute later you cannot drink only here, you have to eat or leave. Me: Ok, then I´ll eat (I was hungry, it was about 19h30) The waiter leaves.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
