My husband and I arrived in Barcelona on a Saturday, tired from our long trip from New York. I had done my homework and had made a reservation for an early dinner at Restaurant Montiel and a classical guitar concert at a nearby 14th century church. We had a rest at our hotel and headed out for dinner. The locals... More

i've dined at montiel on many many occasions (i used to live in the neighbourhood) and recommend it wholeheartedly! great food, fresh seafood, inventive ideas and attentive service! the service can slip a little when they get very busy but i suppose one could say that about any place... but the tasting menu is divine! definitely one of my favourite... This really is a lovely fine dining restaurant. We had the full tasting menu together with the wine parings that went with each course. We could not have asked for more. Interesting dishes, beautifully presented with superb flavours, matched with interesting local wines, all excellently described by our welcoming host who shared his enthusiasm for all things gastronomic with us... I have been traveling Europe for 10 months, and a thoughtful sister bought me as a 25th birthday gift dinner for two at Montiel — the 7-course tasting menu — and covered the entire meal from back home. I come from a family of foodies and have been going to fine restaurants my entire life with my family, in Europe... More

Wonderful restaurant, food was amazing, the waiter (I believe he was Italian) was outstanding -- welcoming and very knowledgeable about the food and especially about the wines. Well worth the money.

Had the sampler menu on a Saturday night, and the sampler wine menu to go with it. Beautiful food, well matched wine (lots of it). All wonderful. Lovely helpful staff despite our woeful lack of Spanish. Tricky to find, down a bit of a skanky alley, but very much worth hunting out. Go there, it's fab.

Not much to add to previous reviews. The booking via email was handled very efficiently and the birthday was celebrated well. A special evening enhanced by terrific food and superb host.

We were with a group of 32 business people and everyone found the food delicious. We had the gatronomic menu and the waiter explained nicely every dish. The only minus thing: when we entered the restaurant there was a bad smell but after 5 minutes, it was gone or we didn't smell it anymore. Anyway it was not that bad... More

This was a great experience! My wife and I wanted to have a special night out in order to celebrate our anniv. Montiel definitely made this happen. First off they were able to organize flowers to be on the table waiting for my wife which started the evening off great. They catered the menu to our preference and the Sommelier... More

After reading several T A reviews we decided to book this restaurant and were not disappointed. The menus are either a 7 course tasting menu or 11 course gastronomic menu. We decided on the latter with the wine pairing. The service offered by Jose (I think) was very informative and attentive explaining in detail each course and the wine served... More

Description
Based on an exhaustive selection of the best raw materials in our region, the gastronomic offer is made from simple and tasty tapas to a full season tasting menu. Paying the utmost attention in the respect for the raw materials, producers and our environment, we work to make the gastronomic experience not only pleasant and fun, but also sustainable, fair and healthy. 80% of the products we use in our kitchen, from vegetables, meats and fish, to wines, beverages and breads, come from small producers in the region. This obliges us and allows us to always work with seasonal products and update our menus permanently. We do not use gluten or lactose and the sugar from our desserts is integral and environmentally friendly. The visit of our clients, then, becomes a comprehensive event ranging from the sensory enjoyment proper to an emotional satisfaction derived from the knowledge of knowing that what is being enjoyed also contributes to strengthen the local economy and Our own health.
