If you are looking for Mediterranean food this place is a great choice. I recommend seafood paella and the seafood fideua.

Located right by Barcelonata Beach, this restaurant was recommended to us by other locals when we mentioned we wanted to try a good Catalonia paella. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, though they add a surcharge if you choose to seat outdoors. On our visit, it was very windy and hot so we decided to seat inside to escape... More

Arenal is one of the limited options in BCN for lunch or dinner on the beach. It has both indoor and outdoor space and it seems that outdoor space is larger. I was surprised and found the food to be good and better than expected. Friendly staff

Located right at the beach, this place is definitely located at a scenic spot and also features a nice interior. The staff was helpful and friendly. However, the food did not convince me: the appetizers were standard, my steak came over cooked and cold, so did the orders of for the rest of the table. Given that this place is... More

This place is delicious! The food was great from the start. First we ordered calamari and bread to share, the bread was good, but the calamari was absolutely perfect. Lightly battered and not overly fried. It had the best flavor of any calamari I had on my whole trip to Spain. The main dish I ordered, the filet with foie... More

I don't know how this restaurant got such rave reviews...it was AWFUL!!! I ordered the seafood grill, which was fish and several other types of seafood, all grilled of course. I'm expecting some amazing flavor--nope. The food was grilled, but that's it. No flavor! No seasoning! Nothing!! Huge waste of money!! If this is a representation of their food I... More

We spend an entire afternoon at Arenal. 3 families together. Excellent Food and service. Only negative part was guy at the toilet asking for money each time. As a paying guest that should not be needed. Other than That I can only recommend Arenal.

Booked here for my 40th birthday dinner. It was OK, not exceptional as I thought it was going to be. There were much nicer restaurants along the beach front, I wish I'd done more research to be honest! The food was nice, the service was ok. Not as busy either as I thought it was going to be.

Amazing location, directly on the beach. Great waiters even with a complete restaurant. The food is really correct.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
