Even if you have the discount of the year don't go to this restaurant where the food is absolutely disgusting. Prices are really expensive for a menu: 16€ for lunch whereas you can get much cheaper in other places (11€). Only positive point: the waitress was nice.

This restaurant is located in the back of the St Antoni Market. We first went there 6 years ago and did like it so much we decided to visit it again. This time it was good yet not as good as the last time.

This place is where I go when I don´t want to queue to the foodstalls inside the market. It´s located in the back of la Boqueria. The outdoor seatings are literally in the backyard, so if you don´t mind construction noise, workers, maintenance personnel etc just go for it. The food is really great and the service is good. When... More

After walking through the famous Mercat de la Boqueria, we settled on a restaurant at the back of the market. It was night, we were hungry and the food was good. We had prawns in garlic sauce, candied figs with goat cheese, and anchovies in oil, along with the traditional Pan Con Tomate. The prawns were fresh - right from... More

This was my second visit to Barcelona. On my first trip I was super happy with the food and service but this time both came up short. I suspect that the construction going on all around the restaurant has affected the popularity and hence the staff was a bit blasé and we did not feel special. The food was alright... More

Should have left when I saw the RAT go under the building. Next to construction site and next to trash dumpster. Poor service and the bottled water smelled like fish when drinking from their glassware. Mussels below average. Better choices in the market

We found this restaurant thanks to Rick Steve's guidebook. It's hidden behind the market so you have to search a bit. When we went, there was construction behind the restaurant so we chose to eat inside rather than on the patio. The food was delicious and very fresh. We had the gazpacho to start which was garnished with fresh peppers,... More

Located just outside La Boqueria Market in Barcelona, I don't think we would have found it without reading about it in Rick Steves' Barcelona guide book. Four of us had a variety of appetizers which we shared, and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our main course, all very fresh ingredients. Manuel made us some very nice sangria and was a... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
