Welcoming staff, lovely ambience, food absolutely fantastic AND very reasonably priced. The best meals we had in Barcelona. We ate here at lunchtime and for dinner.... Upon each occasion we were very impressed with the quality and variety. Would thoroughly recommend.

Accommodated us very last minute for drinks and light food just an hour before New Year's Eve. Excellent selection of cheeses, served with nuts & a plate of Iberian ham. Staff were warm despite clearly busy with diners enjoying the set menu. Neighbouring table were enjoying a steak which looked sensational - would love to try it on a future... More

This is a classic Spanish restaurant, with dark furniture, subdued lighting and great food, particularly the seafood. We both had paella, with fantastic mixed seafood in a wonderful but very light fish sauce. The taste of this food is just superb, and sums up how fantastic Spanish food is, with great ingredients and real skill with cooking. Great service as... More

Went here because it looked eclectic and Trip Advisor reviews seemed good. Food was okay but over salted and with a small plate of cheese at 14 euros and simple risotto at 17 euros it felt overpriced. Better value and cuisine elsewhere in the Gothic area of Barcelona.

Really nice lunch stop on the busy streets of the Gothic neighborhood. Nice atmosphere and good service. My meal, the menu of the day, of soup, sole and dessert was great. My wife ordered a chicken dish that was just ok, she did not like the fact that the chicken pieces included bone pieces. I would come again.

A bit anonymous but very cosy restaurant with very friendly staff. Especially the local dishes and starters are excellent. Choose several different starters to share and nimble on - just like the menu suggests. Worth trying for a reasonable price.

We'd (6 of us) been to watch the fireworks so it was rather late by the time we got back to Carrer Ample. Sofra 18 was one of the few places still serving food. We received a nice welcome and the lady rushed our order before kitchen closed. There was plenty of food and it was all very tasty. The... More

We were only in Barcelona for one night and found this restaurant by chance and were glad we did. The couple working there were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent with good portions, The service was good and the staff never looked harassed even though the restaurant was busy. Would definitely go there again if we return... More

In our recent trip to Barcelona, been twice to this place. Good food but it is also the welcoming attitude of the owner - a couple. The price is another factor... the menu of the day is worth trying out and shared. Very nice atmosphere and popular with locals. Definitely would go again if ever in the area.

Thank Barbara F
