After having seen this restaurant on Trip Advisor, we found it by chance on our first night in Barcelona and these were by far the best tapas we had during our four-day stay in Barcelona! I recommend to match the tapas with the house wine that was only 9.60 euro a bottle!

Exquisitely crafted gastro pub posh nosh with very friendly, personable service. Totally well worth a visit. I loved the burger with foie gras, the stuffed squid and the oxtail stew. The head chef is a such a personality and my boyfriend and I really liked being able to watch all the chefs in action. Portions are just right for the... More

We reserved a table for 19:00 and when we arrived the restaurant was still closed. BUT it was worth waiting the 5 minutes because the food was spectacular...as was the sangria! The restaurant itself is quite compact and space is sparse, so don't expect any miricles if you've got a lot of luggage. I would recommend reserving a table as... More

Totally worth the visit. You won't regret it. Amazing tapas! We were in Barcelona for a week and just had to stop at Tapeo for a final dinner before we left.

This restaurant is right across El Xampanyet where we had had the best lunch earlier in the day. But Tapeo did not disappoint! Great food, cozy ambience and very inexpensive. A must visit!

Saw the fantastic review on this restaurant on Tripadvisor and we where exited to visit and booked a table. The place is tiny and had not much atmosphere, the food and service where really good but not that fantastic. If your nearbye, pop in for a bite, elsewear let it be.

This must of been my 6th or 7th trip to Tapeo and it wont be the last! The food is stunning, the atmosphere like the staff is fun and friendly, speaking of staff, they couldn't of been more helpful. Everything we ate was mouthwateringly good, good to perfection. From the "meat and potato ball bombs" to the "beef cheek", just... More

We easily booked an early (7:00pm) reservation at this wonderful tapas house through email. We are certainly glad that we did. Despite a Catalonia protest which caused our taxi to leave us 1.5 kilometers from the restaurant, we made it there, a little late but still early for Barcelona. We chose a nice, dry white from the wine list located... More

My wife and I just dined here, Wednesday, about 7:30 pm. The place is small, as are most tapas restaurants in Barcelona. We had our choice of bar or high top table. Total seating can't be more than 25-30, so it was good we got there early. Our waiter was a charming fellow, grew up in Israel, spoke perfect english,... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants.
